The average price of a house in Mt Pleasant in March was $1.03 million.

I dunno who is buying them at 7% interest, but a hunch tells me they are mostly cash sales. I overheard a dude talking on his phone in the airport Monday and he said the average rent for a house on Daniel Island is $8500/month.

I have no idea where the money is coming from, but its certainly not locals that are buying or renting houses.

I dunno if its always true; I know that Open Door and some other investment companies are still buying up houses in MP and surrounding areas.

TONS of Jersey people are in Aiken. At first they were "halfbacks" that would move to Florida, hated it, and then moved here. Now word has gotten out and they just move straight here.

No clue why people are paying what they are. You can live in far nicer areas with far better houses with higher average salaries/schools/salaries.
