Tennessee not going to self impose any bowl ban "To protect

innocent student athletes." This is the result of the internal investigation into recruiting violations under Jeremy Pruitt. As way of partial explanation why no bowl ban, they cite "changing recruiting environment" that exists now under NIL.
My BS Meter translates this to mean: Yeah, we did all sorts of illegal stuff under Pruitt, but it's all chill now, we would now just call all that stuff NIL and get on down the road!

And they are actually admitting that the NIL is going to allow schools to get away with all sorts of cheating in the rightful name of the NIL!!! In other words, it's not called cheating anymore, it's the NIL, and bc of it, we do as we please to win!!!!

I agree completely with the thought that schools will now be able to legally cheat because of NIL. What a horrible example that will set for young men still in their teens. So highly impressionable, they will see that cheating is ok if you can manipulate the rules to fit your actions. Or even worse, when you have great talent and skill, the rules don’t even apply to you! Next thing you know they are in their early twenties, feeling entitled to do as they please, playing in the NFL making millions, doing 156 down a residential street, drunker than 40 hails, killing innocent people. I am not trying to lump every young athlete into this category because we see a lot of young men go to the NFL and other professional sports and do amazing things on and off the field or courts. However, I fear the NIL will open doors that lead young men down the wrong path and will change college sports and the lives of some athletes for the worst.

I am pretty sure it is in the NCAA's bylaws not to punish bigger name SEC schools, so I am not sure why they would self impose a penalty. I know Tennessee has been down lately but I think they still qualify.

I would love to see the Vols upset UGA next week. That would be bigger than any Mayo, Music City or Gator Bowl for them.
