So if Trevor is a once in decade type QB

Then how come Joe Burrow wasnt called the same thing last year? Dude had a phenomenal season, best ive ever seen. Dominated 95% of the defenses he played (Auburn played him well) and i dont remember the same being said about him. Just trying to understand the scouting with QBs here. Trevor had a great career and no doubt should be the #1 pick but not understanding why after the 2019 season, Joe wasnt deemed the best QB in a decade after winning the Heisman, throwing for 4500 yards against the greek gods they have on defense over in the SEC all season and disabled the avengers on defense in the NC game.

by NFL GMs particularly given his measurables (size, arm strength, etc.) and thus far flawless character.

Trevor was recognized as the starter before he arrived as a freshman. Burrow was buried on the depth chart at OhioSt. He started two years at LSU. First being about average (16 TD, 5 INT). A once in a decade type QB beats out Dwayne Haskins for the job and doesn’t need to leave for greener pastures.

So Trevor is a once in a decade quarterback (a generational talent) but lost the Heisman to a quarterback rated as fifth by NFL????

Lawrence finished 2nd in the Heisman and was the highest ranked QB in the voting. Smith who won the award was a receiver. Also, they don't award the Heisman based on NFL potential.

to call Macaulay Culkin the QB of a decade?? He probably still does the after shave thing! Who comes up with these labels anyway?...and we have another QB who, by whatever definition, will be the same.

If TL stayed in college 2 more years

His final season he would’ve been the same age as Joe Burrow was during his final season at LSU. TL in college 2 years down the road would’ve better than anything college football had ever seen.

The only reason that Joe Burrow was the first pick last year was because Trevor Lawrence was not in the 2020 draft. Burrow had arguably the best season in college football history, but there isn't a GM out there that would have had the marbles to gamble one year against the constant success and list of measurables that accompany Trevor.

People said those things about Trevor when he was 17-18 years old based on his talent and he maintained that level of performance and talent for his 3 years of college.
You are asking why Burrow wasn't mentioned in the same light after having a one-off amazing season at 22-23 years old?

Most of the credit went to Joe Brady, the QB coach and Passing Game coordinator.
