Has legalization hurt you?
Should we go back to prohibition of alcohol?

Couple years ago in some places.
Some of what u smell is pot and some is other stuff w/o THC that smells like pot. Unless you’re allergic to it, should be no concern for you.
Move along nothing to see here.

2 guys we usually play with in our after church 4 some didn’t show today. Instead played with 2 guys we know and good guys but don’t usually play with.
One in his 40s and one in his 50s. Responsible dudes and good golfers. Hole 3 one of them says “hey you cool?” Stupid me says “nah I’m actually warm”. Then he hold up a joint and says “no you cool if we smoke?” What are you gonna say?
My partner is a retired NYPD cop and he didn’t care. They burned at least 5 joints during the 18. Seemed like wind was blowing it in our direction all day. Finally my partner says does that smell bother you? I said “yes it bothers me. At least when we smoked weed in school it smelled good. This crap smells like a skunks butt”.
Finally with 3 holes to go he said “man it smells like a skunks butt out here”. They didn’t seem to care. Next time I’ll say I wished you wouldn’t. And it bugs me when we’re out in public with kids and the smell is everywhere. Call me a boomer. Could care less. That crap is nasty.

So you are cool with arresting anyone drinking in public? Thats what you are suggesting with weed right? If someone is smoking a joint outside they go to jail. If someone is drinking in public they go to jail.

Tigerfan2234 that is the dumbest post i have seen in a long time. If you think drag queens are a good thing and Churches are after children then wait until the drag queen , LGBT come for you kids for the pedi phill movement that want be far behind. Have people in churches done horrible things, sure they have but , that doesn’t mean all Churches are like that. As far as the weed thing try asking all these states that have legalized it how that’s working for them. More crime , more heavy drug use might sound good to you , but not to me.

Children are substantially more likely to be sexually assaulted by church leaders than drag queens. It's not even close.
And how is weed legalization working for the states that have? Pretty #### well. It's been an immediate and effective source of tax revenue for the states with no meaningful evidence yet that legalization has a particularly meaningful effect on crime rates, certainly not a level of evidence to suggest outdated prohibition style laws are necessary.

CBD is legal in TN and you can’t tell the difference between CBD and Regular cannabis unless you are a toker!
Educate yourself on cannabis prohibition and how it has ruined countless lives since Nixon/Harry Anslinger.
How about reading the US Patent on cannabis written by our own gov. This should clear things up for ya or at least educate you a bit.

Delta 8 is nothing more that Delta 8 oil extracted from the hemp plant and sprayed on Hemp/CBD bud. I assure you if grown right you can’t tell the difference between cannabis and hemp bud!

Whoever claims weed does no harm has never worked firsthand with children in the DSS system. Not saying alcohol isn’t an issue, just that weed has a terribly destructive impact on families. It’s not an innocent diversion .

The largest destructive consequence of marijuana on familial units is that it puts parents behind bars for non-violent offenses. No actual effect of marijuana has remotely as destructive consequences as imprisoning people due to outdated prohibition laws.

Not a fan of the current president by any stretch of the imagination, but my goodness it's time to stop demonizing pot smoking.
I drink plenty of alcohol and I'll be the first to admit it is so much more dangerous by every metric and statistic than smoking some grass has ever been.

It eventually caught up with me, just beer after work and weekends, never the hard stuff. After I quit, my doctor wrote me a prescription for MMJ to replace the habit and have something to come home and relax to. Within a month my entire disposition and attitude towards life changed. I was made a partner at work within months, I was happier, and then promoted to director when CEO retired. Now I run the company, a nondrinking daily pot user.

that is when it is a problem. It is completely harmless to adults, but to a young developing brain, it has been linked to long term psychosis. It should be 21 and over, no exceptions.

Exposing kids to secondhand smoke isn't cool, whether it's weed or tobacco. I remember when it was normal to smoke in restaurants, on airplanes, and pretty much everywhere else. My parents always chose the non-smoking section, but it didn't make much difference. South Carolina still hasn't banned it in restaurants and bars. Not to mention all the people who smoke cigarettes inside the home they share with their children.

I would rather live under a rock than smell people smoking dope when I go on vacation. When people smoke in public everyone including children are around

Don’t understand why anyone anymore smokes or vapes anything in 2024. It is a known health risk. You want to CBD or THC effects, take a gummy or some other edible. No stress on the lungs and no second hand smoke. You want nicotine, take a patch or a Zyn.

Sorry but edibles and tinctures are not the same high. Much more of a body high like opioids but nothing like them chemically. Smoking weed gives a completely different high. Mainly because edibles are decarboxylated before using. The only decarb you get when lighting a joint is the little bit from the fire. You actually waste a good bit of the weed smoking because it’s not all completely active because the “force field” has not been deactivated so to say.

Smoking weed out in the open, don’t even get me started on basic traffic laws or the speed limit.
It’s starting to become an anarchistic society.
Don’t see it getting any better any time soon - no matter who our president is.

When some states legalized it....

... folks in every state do it because they know even if it is illegal the police will do nothing about it.
It is the same thing as what happened in gambling. Even thought it is still technically illegal in some states, it doesn't matter. May as well be legal in all states.
Culture has approved of gambling. Culture has approved of smoking pot.

It’s always been ok. It’s just been illegal. But it’s not the MJ that’s obnoxious. It’s the tobacco. Nasty stuff.

But it’s ok to drink whiskey in public. Lol are you serious? Go drink a bottle of jack, then the next day smoke 2 joints. Then tell me which one should be illegal. The double standard with alcohol and weed is mind blowing.

I think the difference is the smell of reefer smoke. I don’t care if people smoke pot. I don’t care if people drink. I do not want to be in the middle of a bunch of people smoking pot because it smells. There is typically not a lot of unpleasant odor associated with drinking unless you are in some sort of seedy bar with beer soaked flooring.
My family was at pikes Place market in Seattle last summer. The place reeked of reefer smoke. It really made it tough to enjoy being there.

I was in Tennessee - Pigeon Forge too actually the last weekend in April and there were dispensaries everywhere. I didn't go into one so I don't know what exactly the offered, but the smell was all over. According to a local news outlet for PF it's only legal as CBD and Low THC, but will be fully legal sometime this year.
