What schools should Clemson baseball reasonably compare to?

Like I know we can't compete with Vandy or UVA due to the large endowments.
Probably shouldn't expect to compete with UGA or GT because going to school for in state students is basically free in UGA.
What schools should we compete with? Obviously SCar. Maybe NC St, VT, Florida, FSU?

In the current state probably SC. NC State is looking pretty good. Not sure we would be competitive with a Florida either.

Why wouldn’t we compare ourselves to any elite team

Coastal doesn’t have an endowment. Neither does the #1 team in the nation in Knoxville TN. We’re where we are because our previous AD FUBARed the program. We have the tradition and history to be in the same conversation as any team in the county; we just have a long way to go to get back there.

We can compare and should but we are a ways from being an elite team.

Why do we need to compare our team to another team? What would be the goal of that activity since every program is different than us as we each have our positives and negatives? Do you some of you know if our program is currently meeting a reasonable set of expectations?

Geech in my mind Clemson should be a mainstay in the top 20 no doubt. It’s crazy to see how far the program has fell off.
Earlier days I would expect a legitimate chance for the ACC and then definitely a regional with a likely chance of hosting.

I think its safe to say most fans including this one believe the baseball program is underperforming based on a reasonable set of expectations.

Not to hijack the thread but...
I know all about the trusts set up for schools like Vandy where they are able to basically offer most players the remainder of their costs to make up a full scholarship. Thus, they can attract players we cannot.
Would there be anything (other than the funds themselves) preventing Clemson from doing the same thing with NIL? Could we not sign each player without a full ride to an NIL deal that covers their remaining costs? I realize NIL money is not paid by the school and is not required to be paid back to the school to cover expenses, but it would seem to be an easy way to get around the scholarship limits and load a full roster with top talent. Basically do what the Texas football schools are doing on a much smaller scale just to pay for full baseball rides.

I think Clemson baseball can compare themselves with any top 30 program. We're just in a funk. We still get really good ball players. We're just known as a football school right now.
