What grade would you give Wes as D Cordinator for about 2/3rd...

Of the season.? I'd give him a solid B, besides breakdowns in games especially vs Wake and FSU.. He is getting the experience and now that most of the defense is back healthy I think they can finish real strong. .

C. And I’m not against him. Just unimpressed. Or maybe over expected from last 10 years. There’s nothing about this defense that’s extraordinary other than what it was “supposed” to be.

agree, with the NFL talent that is on the line, they are getting pushed around in games that you expect , after the boston college game, i expected the defense to be on fire for the FSU game.. but i also expected FSU to be a tough game, Our offense had several opportunities to bury FSU once it got to 34-14 and we didnt. not sure if the defense thought they couldn't come back but FSU didnt give up. I personally would give him a B-or C , Clemson could do better with a defensive coordinator, also Offensive coordinator, Im not criticizing just throwing out an opinion. As long as clemson wins , no changes will be made, Dabo even said he's super pleased with this staff... On to Syracuse, who would have thought Syracuse could be for first place in the Atantic

Really good running back at Syracuse and the quarterback is decent. We probably win by 10 and give up 500 yards to them. Yes on hard to believe. Last time we played them at home there were more Syracuse fans around with basketball jerseys than football shirts. Geez.

Mr. Goodwin Has To Develop A Killer Instinct.

This is not the NFL where records determine playoff participation and seeding. Style points are important. Both coordinators went into a shell far, far too early.

Of the 4 teams in front of us, 2 will not make their conference championships. The only way style points become relevant is if we lose.

JMO since asked. Offense is playing about 85% of capability …

Streeter is prone to conservative play calls after some great play calling. Overall big improvement from last year.
Defense seems to be playing about 70% of capability mixing great plays with inconsistency _ leading to not being able to get off the field. Goodwin gets passing grades but expectations are higher. Defense is underperforming given talent and compared to last year.

i definitely agree with that .. some great plays then we look terrible. to many quarterback runs, if DJ has improved so much, which i agree he has a lot, let him throw the dang ball, all our throws are sideline throws, would love to see the tight ends in the middle of the field some, our receivers run routes and quit running if they know they aren't designed to get the ball, thats what i have noticed in lot of games so far, its like there isnt a second or third option , guess they aren't letting dj think to much.. but glad we are winning, its better than last year, but definitely playoff contender caliber yet, Georgia, Tenn, Michigan, Ohio state, bama all can put up some big numbers, and i hope we can get to that caliber this year.. Go Tigers

Agree B. He’s had to deal with no continuity due to injury and very inexperienced DBs. What’s been a little disappointing and keeping him front when A grade is LB play. I think we aren’t seeing the full potential of the amount of talent there.

Which is actually ok with me because we’re getting better and better. I do believe WG’s inexperience is the cause of the low grade. Praying he gets better faster.

B+ to A-

He’s had to deal with injuries to significant contributors and lots of youth in the secondary. The knee jerk reaction is to say our D coaching has been disappointing, but many times fans are actually seeing the very best of coaching jobs in times like this, they just don’t know it.

This defense can play up to it’s potential and truly dominate! Hopefully we get hot at the right time and Goodwin gains more experience.

My opinion is that he is smart and talented. He’s learning on the job for sure. My only criticism is I’m not sure he will be able to get the “fire” out of the D as well as coach V did. Whatever problems there are on our D, Talent is not one of them.

Maybe it is just my expectations based on the talent we have and not the talent that we have had on the field. I would probably say B- to C+. My grade will be heavily weighted towards the Final, so he still has the potential for an A for the year.

I'm grading on a curve because of all the injuries so I'd give him a B at this point. If we had everybody healthy all season and were playing this inconsistently then his grade would be a D.
Hopefully, we keep everyone healthy the rest of the way and get back on track. We are much better than we have been playing and we need to get to the level of play that was expected at the beginning of the year to finish the season the way we all want.

B. The defense would have been better if it was focused.
If I want to describe the first and fourth quarters, first quarter would be F and the fourth quarter would be D.
