The great Coach Howard once said,”the best thing to ever come out of Columbia is I-26 W heading to Clemson. Believe him!

Yall are clueless. You celebrate the posters who trash Clemson and Dabo and call intelligent badarse clemson lovers coots. I don't get it.

There is LITERALLY nothing wrong with Columbia. I have family there. It’s a city, and just like any moderately sized city there are good areas and bad areas. Amazing food and culture over in the vista and there are historic areas too. Not sure why our fanbase insists on always trashing the state capital. It’s gotta be trolling because I don’t see it on TCI or Rivals.

To give you an honest response I’m a SC native and live ten minutes from Death Valley now. I’ve been to Columbia many times and don’t understand the appeal of the place. I’m always glad to leave. I guess it depends on what you enjoy in life. I lived in north Florida five years as well and don’t really care for it either but at least it has a beach.

I live here and it is legitimately a garbage city. Anyone who says differently has never lived anywhere else. Living in Lexington and commuting in is tolerable, but still undesirable, and an awful commute. I have lived all over the southeast and the only place worse than Cootlumbia is Atlanta and maybe Birmingham.

If coots truly believe that "buffalo chicken wings" and "deep fried mozzarella sticks" constitute "amazing" cuisine, I rest my case.

being a decent city and I’m shaking my head and completely dumbfounded.
It’s a cesspool. There are absolutely zero redeeming qualities regarding that city. It’s one giant ghetto. And the areas outside of Columbia are even worse. Orangeburg?? Lexington? FLORENCE??? I fear for my life and just try to stay as incognito as possible. Contaré National Park is pretty cool and that’s about it. Homeless, trashy undesirables from the northeast (particularly New Jersey), and thugs all think Columbia is a great place. I can’t get out of there (sometimes forced to be there for work) or pass through there (going to coast) fast enough. Columbia and New Orleans have a lot in common. And that’s not a city you want to share similarities with.

Lexington is historically heavily Clemson. It's changing as more outsiders move in. Go Tigers!!! Beat South Carolina!!!

This is where rival week gets out of hand - everybody lives somewhere and most people like where they live or move. And you should like where you live… So just for this week, there are fine people that live in questionable locales that still are good Clemson Fans. There…
Next week, we can redraw that curved line from Columbia to Columbus and on to Montgomery, affectionately known as the gnat line, and ask why anyone would live there?
Live where you want, and don’t ask these folks for grace, you’re welcome.

Ha, it passes right through Lake Murray. North side - no gnats. South side - gnats. Gotta be the clay soil that they don't like.

Two Notch Road prostitution, small derelict slums scattered throughout some well hidden though, and that beautiful landmark and tourism magnet : Perry's Correctional Facility-if it's still there—

Not that it makes any difference, but Perry is in the facility in the upstate that had the helicopter escape 30-something years ago. Cola apparently needs two prisons as they have both Broad River and Kirkland.

I worked in Columbia for 2 years. Personally, I will never understand why it’s a desirable place to live. Hot, humid, and tons of crime. The landscape is ugly. The broad river smells bad. More hoods than decent neighborhoods. Downtown is a ########. The best thing Columbia had going is that it’s near Lake Murray. Not to mention the student that got kidnapped from 5 points and murdered. I would never want my child to have to live in that cesspool of a city.

During the Civil War Columbia was burned but General Sherman said he didn't order it done. So my theory is that Columbia is naturally flammable and can spontaneously combust at any time.
