Trevor’s great. His coach has about one more “Opp’s” moment and he’ll be gone.

Yeah. One video showed the woman doing a little hip shake between his legs, while he sat on the bar stool. If i were sitting in that stool, i would be thinking i was getting laid later tonight.

What he said is fine but why comment at all. Let Urb stew in his own juice.

Because he was asked at a press conference

In that situation, "no comment" will be heard as a lack of support for his coach or possibly signifying a rift in the team.
He basically said he respected the coach and they were moving on from there. Just about as good an answer as could be given.

TL is the face of the team. He has to answer the way he did. It becomes his job to cover for the boss. If the situation was reversed, Meyer would be expected to do the same. TL did the best for the situation. I wish he didnt have to dirty has hands with it, but thats part of the job. Personal opinion doesnt count.

No comment=Throwing his coach under the bus; might even come off as cowardly or as a virtue signaling supporter of the delusional ME TOO movement-

Proud of Trevor Lawrence for showing great maturity as he spoke to the press regarding the indiscretion of Urban Mayer. It says a lot about the things he learned during his time at Clemson. Not skills for the game but how to succeed in life. As always he is doing a fine job of representing our university. Prayers for him as he moves forward in the NFL.

I’m not saying he was right nor am I defending him.

But I think way too much is being made of this!
The media does not like him and right now he’s an easy target because of how bad the Jaguars are.
Urban Meyer didn’t do anything that The vast overwhelming majority of red blooded men in America, and globally, would not have done. He was at a birthday party for a friend and a bar like millions of men every day and because he’s famous and rich and let’s be honest attractive some girls showed him some attention. He might’ve touched one of two of them in public but none of it was harassment or assault and was probably from everything we know welcomed and encouraged.
Wasn’t the smartest thing to do, was the best judgment in a world of cell phones, but again it’s not a big deal. Way way too much time is being spent on this. Oh my God a guy touched a girl in a bar! Imagine that!
Yes he’s married yes he’s a father and a grandfather but again in a bar at a party for a friend a little bit of alcohol little bit of women being women no harm no foul. Had he gone home with her and had sex with her. Now we’re talking something serious. But this is harmless and people need to get over it and move on. If this was Nick Saban or a coach in the NFL ESPN likes, that the media likes, they would be glossing it over. This is more about the media not liking urban Meyer than anything else! needs to be aware that they’re going to use every little thing they can against him. I’m sure going forward he will be much smarter and much more aware of his surroundings because they are certainly out to get him.
And can we all just stop being so judgmental. None of us are free from sin and the Bible says he without sin cast the first stone. But as usual the overtly Christian are being the hypocrites. And haven’t we all learned our lessons now about judging situation‘s based on a few pictures or an edited video online? We don’t know what happened and it’s frankly none of our business. Move on people! Get a life!

I suppose if you think a 58yr old married man whose team just lost their 4th game aught to be celebrating in town while his team flies home is good optics, you probably think hip grinding with him holding her hips is OK.
If this is what some portion of the populace thinks is good, wholesome fun, maybe that portion comes from some very skewed households and thinks Caligula was a great Roman leader.
TL, has to walk a fine line as a rookie in that losing team. He has little outside credibility for now. If this was 3yrs down the road I think he'd be silent no comment at worst.

The question before the house is whether Meyer will get fired or quit before he completely wrecks Lawrence. One would think that even a moron as NFL owner would hire a coach known for developing QBs. Meyer's specialty seems to be developing X-rated film.
