I'd never bash a former CU player, but I'm a bit unsure of what kind of advice he is receiving from agent/NFL scouts. Needed his senior year in my opinion, but good luck.

Agreed, Ray Ray definitely needs another year. He needs to prove he can hold on to the ball, believe he'll be sorry! Hope I'm wrong!

He kind of reminds me of Ted Ginn Jr. They're around the same size, both have a lot of speed, and both seem to have issues with hands from time to time. If Ted Ginn jr made it I think Ray Ray can. He just needs to be invited to the combine and he needs to show out. If not I can't see him any higher than the 5th or 6th round tbh. He's a great player that fit into our scheme well but I'm not 100% sure how he would fit in an NFL scheme with his size.

Think of it this way...he was being asked at the beginning of the season how'd he feel about playing on the other side of the ball. He had a pretty good season and maybe wants to go out on top of the position he likes the most. Good Luck Ray Ray!

I wish Ray-Ray the best in the NFL, he has been a solid player for us over the years. I hope someone picks him up as I expected him back next year, I don't think he has the body or hands for the league.

I think he will be a dang good special teams player and also could be used at the slot or like McCaffery.

Didn’t happen this year but it could happen next. Maybe they told Ray Ray that he was free agent bound and another year wouldn’t change that. I thought he had a real shot if he played next year at DB.

Man it feels just like yesterday ray ray was coming onto campus as a freshman. Wish this young man nothing but the best! I can see his rationale for leaving after seeing Artavis go undrafted, he probably realizes he has nothing left to prove.
Plenty of depth at WR though, men will step up!

I will say that if Hunter Renfrow leaves, he will be taking up one of the NFL slots that another Tiger receiver may miss out on bc, I believe that Hunter is the best receiver on our team, last season and this season!!!

It is a decision he has made based on discussions with his family and the coaches. There may not be much more he can do to raise his draft stock....we have so many options on offense, it's not like he was going to do more statistically. I wish he was staying for our team's sake, but am happy for him.

For scott’s Size he isn’t the fastest or the quickest. Yes he has good hands and a tough runner and route runner but ray ray on the other hand is quicker and faster than Artavis and has similar size and a more dynamic return man than Scott was believe it or not. Scott was more reliable but ray ray is more of the playmaker and playmakers rarely go undrafted.

Everyone comparing Ray Ray to Tay Scott...Saying he is going late . I think he will run in the 4.4's . Remember Tay ran a 4.61 or he probably would have gone higher. I think Ray Ray will show out in all areas at the combine . BTW i am not saying Ray Ray is better than Tay just that he will get drafted higher .

Ray-Ray can’t improve his size by coming back another year. At the end of the day you can’t change some things God gave you by another year of “training” for the league. He has good enough speed to play at the next level and his ball skills are better than Cain’s. Look at the tape from this past year. He made plenty of contested catches and some that I never thought he would be able to make. We all remember his short comings of dropping a few punts and dropping the ball before crossing the goal line a few years ago, but he has accomplished all athletically he could accomplish in college. I wish him the best!

We all should never have a negative comment about any player leaving early bc there is nothing any fan can do or say to change their minds. They are the ones that will have to sleep in the bed they made for them selves. I wish the very best for them I really do. But if they fail after leaving early with another free year there for them, please don't bring the tears back to T-Net bc Clemson is trying to win championships with the ones that are with the team. Leaving early isn't something to boast about, any junior can do that bc it's easy. Staying and helping your team mates to win games is special, it takes selflessness and dedication for your team and team mates that has done their best to help each other to be their best for their team for the duration of their college careers.

Best of luck to Ray Ray and Deon.
If this means Deon truly is gone I'm ok based on what we have waiting to show what they can do, maybe a little more leadership and consistency.

skills to play in the NFL but needs more refining. I just don't get it with a better QB situation next year and he would still be a starter. Why risk it? A LOTTTT of guys only get one shot at the NFL so it's best to take that shot when you are the most prepared.

I do hate to see these boys go so soon. I say it once, I'll say it again, they need to finish their senior year so that if they did not graduate, chances are that they will never come back and finish. Farewell Ray-Ray, I hope you the best!!!!!!!

Bummer. Thanks for everything RRMIII. I think he could have benefited from one more.
I agree with another poster where you get one shot to prove yourself in the league and you need to be the best version of yourself you can be to stick around.
Our WR core is going to be unproven but talented.

Best wishes RRM. Doubt he'll go 1st, maybe not 2nd. Will open a starting position, so this year will see if the team improves. Hope RRM finds his hearts desire.

Surprised by this but I can understand it. Clemson is not a passing offense right now and there is no reason to expect it to change for his senior season. The only way to improve his draft stock would be to have a stellar season catching the ball and that's just not going to happen. Best of luck to him in the NFL.

If we are not changing the offense, Johnson and more will transfer because the style doesn’t fit them.

Honestly, a very good decision by Ray-Ray and the coaches

He would not get the touches next year with our WR depth and talent. He would likely have had around 30 catches and 250-300 yards receiving, mostoh from of screens and flare outs. Very talented, but would have been limited to mainly a returner role and possibly more defense. He probably won't get drafted, but his stock is as high as it will be.

My uneducated opinion is that he should come back and focus on being a DB. He seems to have a better chance on defense and, by having a full year exclusively at DB, could be a draft pick. Nonetheless, he gave a classy announcement and I hope for the best for him.

RR never reached his potential for reasons none of us know; maybe he will mature & evolve into a solid player late. IMO, a guy who had 2 memorable moments as a Tiger: the egg drop at the half yard line and the punt return versus NCSU.
