I have a feeling you are on the right thinking path with this kid. He is a mover and his routes are 9n point. He catches a football like he's on the receiving end of a chest pass in bball. Very fast and can maintain distance. Very excited to see him on the field.

Well in the bowl game it held up perfectly fine, Cade held the ball to long and missed a wide open Stool over the middle on the seam a few times. Fade routes doesn't require a lot of time, you get the ball out and let the WR make the play.

Could he be close to a Renfrow, probably not bc guys like Renfrow falling completely through the cracks don't happen to often with big time college FB schools. It would be great if the kid turns out to be a serviceable receiver in 4 wide set and throw the ball his way bc he probably wouldn't be covered to closely. But only use him for that in a really close game that we would need to win....

Looks good but why are not more schools showing interest in him? Was he playing against lesser competition?

More schools want to win now not spend years developing a player. So his competition and skill is in question. So Clemson gets a trial period to see and develop him.
He looks like Charlie Scheen in Major League in that pic. Wild Thing! We need Serrano too!

I guess Wesco and Moore aren't good enough for you huh? There once was a guy named Renfro in this same position. This doesn't burn a ship so what does it hurt? Wait...Is this you Tyler????

CKEMSON is not going to buy players. If that is what you are looking for then FSU is the team for you. Don’t like Dabo’s program you know where the door is!

Any film anywhere?
Also, I know it's a minor detail, but why doesn't he have his dad's last name?

While you may scoff at a preferred walk on
Jan 19, 2024, 9:25 PM
|
|
This kid plays for a 4a Championship powerhouse team in Louisiana (6a is highest).
Not only is he used to winning, he’s scored 38 touchdowns in just 3 years. No matter the level of competition (within reason) … that much production is impressive.
Additional information from their website:
Evangel Christian Academy was named by USA Today as one of the top 8 High School springboards to the NFL.

Yeah 4a…. ALARMING. We need to be picking up 4 and 5 star 6A studs to win championships. This isn’t the 90s anymore.

… but think you’re putting too much emphasis on the division. But kids usually go to school where they live and their parents work, they don’t necessarily enroll at a school just to play football.
Christian schools generally are smaller and high school football divisions are determined based on school enrollment size and geography, not quality of the programs.
Current enrollees Wesco and Moore in the 2024 class played in division 5.
In this case, Parker played at a school where he bloomed where he was planted (as have the others), a school that happens to have won 14 championships. It sounds like he’s gotten and taken good coaching.
If you’re only looking at top Division high schools, you’re going to miss some top players … like Tee Higgins (Div 5 in an 8 div state currently) … and diamonds in the rough like Hunter Renfrow.
Plus you never know a players path to where he graduates from high school.
I’m happy to have Parker as a preferred walk on.
State Rank in football: 68

So preferred walk ons start with no scholarship, thus cost $0 to Clemson. Low risk with upside I guess.

“D1 FBS teams can give full-ride scholarships to 85 athletes on their roster. However, most FBS D1 teams will have 118-130 student-athletes on their roster, and those additional spots on the team are filled by talented walk-ons.”
I think of them as a walk on with a little more potential.

Neither, after watching film, I’d argue that his ball skills will earn him a scholarship and lots of playing time.

Over the top. Seems to have a knack for tracking the ball over either shoulder and make difficult catches while still in stride.
Will be a great addition to the WR room IMO.

Well if the film is anything to go by, he is either fast as hell or there are some slow football players in Louisiana and we all know that isn't true! Looks good to me, how is he not ranked?

Welcome to tigertown Parker. You're going to love getting involved in our athletics programs. As you've seen, come in, put in the work and you'll get opportunity. Show up and show out. It may take a redshirt year but it will pay off. Dabo's extremely honest and fair in giving everyone a chance.
