I'm pulling for him to get a full year on the court and set some records. Always liked Alex. During our run this year, I noticed he was usually the first one off the bench to congratulate the fellas during a time out etc. Kinda hate to see him leave.

You don’t know that’s accurate. The coaches may have ‘encouraged’ a transfer. It’s not a time in history to have a nonproductive scholarship sitting on the pine.
We all assume that when a kid enters the portal that it’s their choice. Not necessarily so. But kudos to the coaches who keep their mouths shut and take the hit for the departure.

Well if that’s the case, then I would owe Alex an apology for my comment.
But I have a hard time believing Brad would push him out of the program.
And if he did, then Brad is way worse than I even thought.
In any case, the situation sucks.

Somewhere between both of the scenarios you hate. Given his injury situation, my personal sense is he seeks a program where he won't bog down the depth chart if he gets hurt again, yet is hopeful of a season he can simply play plenty of minutes. He's not the selfish sort you're making him out to be, nor is BB pushing one from the nest.
Man, folks do like living the extremes...

My original post was only referring to his comment that he would “not be able to” finish his career at Clemson.
I just didn’t care for that because it’s simply not true unless he was told to leave.
Did Brad kick him off the team?

It is fair game for a player to leave after he plays (portions of) 5 seasons and graduates a couple of times. I wish Alex the best wherever he ends up.

Only God knows how much stress and turmoil he had to experience trying to get 100% pretty much his whole career

He always reminded me of “Floyd the barber” from Andy Griffith days. He was at every game this year and supported his teammates. Best wishes for success in the portal.
