Turnovers.
This is a very good football team. We can beat anyone in the country.
Unfortunately, we can, have, and will lose games we shouldn’t.

I know it’s crazy how bad we’ve shot ourselves in the foot this year. It has been good to see an offense that can move the ball, just got to finish more. Once they get it all put together nobody is gonna wanna play us.

Not just turnovers, but turnovers resulting in either scores or great field position for the other team. I saw stat once that a team that gets a fumble six or a pick six wins the game 60% of the time.

We might be a good football team, but we play poorly and undisciplined. The turnover that flipped the fsu game, was because of undisciplined football and a terrible play by mafa All of our woes except that mafa red zone fumble that was just a defender making a play and causing a fumble were all self inflicted wounds by a very poorly coached football team

BS on poorly coached. Players have to make plays.

You are right. We can beat any team in the country, we just have to quit beating ourselves. Our blockers need to start blocking! I am beginning to think we have some glory hounds on offense that think they aren’t supposed to block when they are not the ones getting the ball. Maybe we need to give some of these young players a chance that block when it is not their turn to get the ball. When our offense has to hurry EVERY play, they are going to have slip ups like missed hand offs, etc. For all you armchair coaches that want to blame Weitz for losing the game, get over it already! He did us a huge favor to put his life on hold to give us a chance! Gunn has not yet proven he can perform under pressure and Weitz has, even if he did miss 1. No kicker is perfect. One play or one missed opportunity would not be costing us losses if we had consist blocking. Also, if we had consistent blocking, we wouldn’t be needing field goals instead of touchdowns all the time. If you don’t believe this is a huge problem this year, look at the rating of a lot of these players on offense. Blocking sucks for a lot of them! Still proud of my tigers and hope they get the wrinkles ironed out soon. Go Tigers!

Not to mention putting up 850 yards in total offense in those 2 loses.
Hoping the turnovers start to even out.

You are dead on. I have more confidence in the offense comparative to the last 2 years, and hoping the TO’s will equal out or even get to a plus number by year end. Kind of worried how this last loss might affect this team seeing we led or was tied the whole game and ended up losing in OT.

I feel the same way. I would love to see Clemson have a complete game Saturday and destroy Syracuse.

We lack a true game breaker scoring threat (speed) on offense. We have to be very methodical which leaves more opportunity for turn overs. Think about this…when mafah broke free on the long run vs fsu, if he takes that to the house we win the game. Would ETN have scored? Probably. I like mafah and Shipley both but they don’t have home run speed. Same is true with receivers….maybe Tyler brown can be that threat.
