home and take the job good luck with anyone else....you're going to be stuck trying to hire the same type of coach we already have to compete against NC, Duke, etc.

Not likely! We would not pay 2 to 3 million this time around.

The good news with that is

there are only a few major jobs left. LSU, Oklahoma St and Indiana. And Indiana is going out of our league. Hot coaches: Dan Hurley, Archie Miller, Pat Kelsey, Ed Cooley, Keith Dambrot, and several others. Most will be available next year

but there is no shortage of quality coaches. And hopefully, if we don't surprise next year, we're prepared in what we're looking for and also with a substantial monetary package

No you don't - Drad has locked us in for three more years with $3.5, 3.0, and 3.0 million dollar buyouts over the next three years - Absolutely unjustified amounts for any contract for BB and not based on any prior achievements - In the meantime Tiger hopefuls, keep your eyes on Chris Holtmann at Butler, one of the most up and coming young head coaches out there with great recruiting and win/achievment records...and only dream ahead....

If anyone has read this site DRad and Brownell have clearly reached an understanding and I believe the news conference will tell us much more. Brownell knows his future career rests on next season. I really believe DRad will have no choice but to make a change unless we do much better than expected.
My choice for our next coach would be Pat Kelsey of Winthrop, but there are certainly going to be other experienced coaches who despite our past will be willing to tackle the challenges involved.

THIS DOES NOT MATTER... we are not going after what/who we need.. The new coach will not be that much better than what we have.... sad to say but true

The best outcome would be for Brownell to have a great year and keep his job.

I don't trust Clemson to find, hire, and keep a great basketball coach. It has never been done, and nothing about this current situation gives me any confidence that things have changed.
Until further notice, it should be assumed that Clemson will continue making basketball much less of a priority than it needs to be.

Judge, You may right, but somebody needs to step forward and demand a clear change in priorities including a steady change in the culture. Until enough donors and fans speak up then the athletic administration has no real reason to continue to upgrade the program beyond renovating LJC which was overdue.
We all need to demand better and frankly keep pressure on DRad to spend more on the program.
