Imho God cares about every aspect of his children's lives. If the nil and college football or even a ping ping racket and table are the desires and goals of his children then I believe God cares about it and wants it to benefit and glorify him. Rom 8 28 - And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose
And some icing on the cake in Luke - Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured

Sorry you atheist don’t understand Dabo. Maybe you need to pull for another coach and team.
And I am sorry that you don't understand that this is a state university, not Bob Jones University or Liberty.
If Dabo is incapable of spouting off about his religion, maybe he should reconsider whether a state university is where he should be.
(I love what he's done for the program, but this is so tiresome.)

Especially in our key recruiting demographic in the south. We said the lords player for every sport before every game starting in tee ball and pee wee football. Most of the guys participate in FCA in middle and high school. If you listen to what most athletes say in game interviews they are giving praise to God. So to say that Dabo displaying his beliefs and building a program around Christian values really shows your ignorance to the landscape of the southern sports culture. Dabo continues to bring in to classes year after year and has not changed who he is. You don’t have to agree with his beliefs but to say he shouldn’t display those beliefs and build his highly successful program around them and use them as a recruiting tool displays your bias blocking out your thinking.

Don’t agree, and neither do the top classes he reels in year after year after year after year…some fans, and some people in general appreciate that Dabo actually has a moral compass. I suspect those that don’t just don’t like hearing anyone yak about their faith and how it impacts their life.

about wearing it on your sleeve. But I sincerely believe that he is a good an decent man who does what he does informed by his faith. As a good methodist, if his actions are guided by love, them, they are good.
(I'm a good methodist - have no idea what brand Dabo is)

God said to go and spread his word. He didn't say go hide in your closet and keep it to yourself. There is a huge difference in praying and giving a testimony for Jesus Christ.

This is a perfect example of the difference in Baptists and Methodists. Baptists make sure to testify and tell everyone how religious they are because they believe sinning quietly is somehow better than sinning in other ways.
“You know how to make sure you have zero beers left after a fishing trip? Take ONE Baptist.
You know how to save all your beer for yourself on a fishing trip? Take TWO Baptists”

Lord and Savior. No more labels needed!
And I think “port’s” post is a prime example of why the world and in particular our country is in the decline it’s in - Jesus’s church has been silent too long! i.e. not wearing our faith on our sleeve and living out our faith in full view of the world.
Until we the church grow a pair and be the hands and feet of Christ, conditions will continue to decline.

Religious denominations are just like Democrats and Republicans. One thinks they are better than the other. I am a Christian that answers to God and no one else. Your self righteousness will catch up with you eventually if as a methodist you think you are a better Christian than a Baptist. We are all God's children and sinners. It is because of his son Jesus Christ we are forgiven, not perfect.

Welp...thank goodness it's signing day otherwise this would be THE lead story on ESPN and every other "sports" news outlet. And it's not like anybody reasonable actually thinks Dabo ISN'T a Christian, but this is broad-based statement is sorta of unnecessary.. We already put enough extra hurdles on this program ourselves. No need to make it easier to add more from outsiders/haters.

Is there something he said you haven't heard before? He thanks God every time he has a chance. Nothing new. One day he won't be here to say these "things" you dislike and you will all miss him and his solid faith. He will be very hard to ever replace. It's never bothered me.

Yes, I've never heard God's' name intertwined with college football NIL before. Have YOU heard this before? If Dabo wants to describe his personal faith, that's fine, but describing the entirety of the football program as being built in God's "NIL" comes across as kind of odd/unhelpful. Clemson is a public institution, not a private Baptist, Methodist or Catholic school. If it was, then totally fine.

While it's comforting to think every kid on the team is like Cade, the obvious reality is they are not. And I don't need everyone to be like Cade in order to support the team. And I don't the head coach to talk about religion in order to support the team. Maybe you do, but I don't. I don't mind if he does talk about it, as long as he's describing his personal faith.

You should read the First Amendment, secgrowa.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Public institutions can't prohibit the free exercise thereof!

This country was founded on Christian principles, we need to get back to placing them in public places. Too many people in this country love the creation but not the Creator. Merry Christmas!
So you disagree with the Bible, when it Matthew it was written: “When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men … but when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your father who is unseen.”

Then dont hire a man of faith to not only revamp a football program but take it to heights its never been consistently.

Go back and read or listen to the comments from many of our recruits and current players that mention God and their faith and the role faith has in the Clemson program as part of the reason they chose Clemson. Dabo is reinforcing this position with the players that share similar beliefs. Have you heard an interview with Cade where he didn’t mention God?

I love the fact that he stands for the name, image & likeness of God. Corny? Eye roll come’on man.
These are principles where the creator is 1st in all things, Clemson is walking in the blessings of Abraham because we honor God as the Supreme power of all things.
We are truly blessed to have a man of faith as our football coach(I’m not asking about perfection because none of us have that) a man with principles that his culture at Clemson follow.
It’s why the best football families want to be apart of the Clemson program. Train them up in the way they should go and they will not depart from it.
Go Tigers!

He doesn't force anyone to come to Clemson. If you don't believe then that is your choice. I'm sure not every player on the team is a Christian.

As usual, Dabo is getting LIT UP by the bluecheck journalists and far-left twitter clowns. Funny how the people with low morals and ethics have the most to say about a man with high morals and ethics.
Really sad state of affairs for our modern culture when a man of god is dragged for *checks notes* being a man of god.

I don't preach on the street, but Dabo and I share the same faith. If I had his platform, I would think the right thing for me to do fairly regularly would be to remind folks who know me of my faith. Dabo makes his team, his fans, the media and the nation who knows his name a bit know about his faith. I have zero problems with the manner he conducts himself and witnesses to his faith. Everyone who knows Dabo's name knows where he stands with his faith and with his beliefs. I am good with that.
Some people of faith wear special clothing as a manner of telling the world about their beliefs. Nuns wear habits, some preachers were a special collar in public. The Pope wears a special robe and a special hat. Some Jews were a special cap and clothing. Most Sundays many of us get up,put on our Sunday Clothes and go to church. Southerners often talk more about our faith than most other Americans. All of us have seen and know ball players who cross themselves before a free throw. Is that a shtick?
It strikes me as a bit telling that more than a few people get really disturbed by another person's expression of his or her faith in public. A couple of folks making comments here have called Dabo's method of talking about his faith a shtick. I wonder if they see all the other ways people exhibit faith in the course of their work as a shtick? What is it that makes some really uncomfortable about anyone else's public faith?
I am good with Dabo's willingness to say aloud that he tries to conduct himself and run his football program the way in which he believes his God wishes him to act. Odd that troubles some.
Go Tigers!!

While respecting everyone’s right to express their opinion, I’m unsure what is offensive about Dabo’s values. He believes in the God who says that every person is equally valuable, loved, and created in His image. His Son Jesus is the Champion of women, the poor, the marginalized, and those who disagree with Him. He doesn’t force Himself on anyone. His offer is eternal life to those who choose to follow Him.

that’s the calling he should have pursued. Y’all call it “witnessing”; I call it a congenital inability to leave other people alone, and a Clemson press conference is not the place for it. Your faith is between you and your God, assuming you worship one.

Sure your being out spent by your competitors on NIL money, but please don’t launch into a sanctimonious rant about your faith expecting to even up the score.
