This article mentions a couple issues I hadn't heard or seen:

Interesting. The ACC counter lawsuit is not valid because - We're not saying GoR isn't valid, it's just not valid if we're not in the ACC.

The really interesting part is that the ACC refers to the GoR as a "joint venture" - something not allowed for State entities - yet was signed by Clemson officials...... yikes!

This pi**ing contest is getting to be a tangled web and needs to be settled via a reduced exit fee and with no further claim on Clemson's media rights.

Disney CEO said this morning that ESPN owns 35% of the sports broadcasting deals, but were considering dropping some of them. He didn't say which sports were targeted, but the ACC could be one.

I doubt Disney wants ESPN to go too far down this legal road with them spending a lot of money on litigation and risk having their contract details exposed.

One possible item that has not been mentioned anywhere is the creation of the ACCN and ACCNx. It would seem to me that those media outlets are more of a "joint venture" than the GoR for televised game coverage.

Maybe that and/or something involving RayCom is what ESPN doesn't want to be seen.

By that logic, Clemson cannot be a part of any conference, since that would require signing a GOR and TV contract through any other conference. That would also be a "joint venture."

From all reports, the ACC is a good deal for ESPN. Not sure why they would choose to cut profitable revenue. I’ve read where they’re likely to end or reduce their relationship with MLB to free up some cash to pay for the new NBA deal.

National baseball games have such little appeal now. Baseball fans like watching their local teams with their local announcers, not a national feed of two teams they don’t care about.

I believe the joint venture dispute is about the damages the ACC is seeking against Clemson for filing the lawsuit (ie wrap in fiduciary responsibility not to harm other conference members ). Not sure it has any bearing on the validity of the GoR.
