Have been slaves to the joint Power5/TV/Big Donor Machine.
Now the CFB athlete is getting his $$$ from that Machine.
Not so much as slave anymore, but now a g*gilo ?

I never felt that way.
It was free college for me. And, an opportunity to play the sport I loved.

But, let's say a player does feel that way. Good for them to get their money. Except; "all of them aren't getting big money"! How long will the big money last? What is their incentive to keep getting better? Did they sign a contract to stay at the school the NIL deal was for? If not, they are free to move on.

The TP and NIL are independent entities. And, all these athletes are not going to win in this deal. They may end up in worse situations!
And, a worse place in life "potentially" because they didn't get picked up by another school.

The high-profile players will of course, be picked up. Everybody gets that. I get that.
But, that's not the majority of those who enter the portal. They are mostly blowing an opportunity for free college in large part so the stats indicate. Which ironically puts them in a state where they are more likely to be as you described them(to industry).
