If the PAC implodes (seems likely) and the ACC loses a few

big names...

What happens to the newly formed 12 team CFP, and their "rules".

Rules currently say the highest ranked SIX conference champs get in, with the highest ranked FOUR getting a bye. Seems like going to 2-3 super conferences would negate that.

I imagine they would just add an extra wild card team... The four bye's would likely go to the 3 major conf champions and the highest seeded wild card team... They could give it to the highest ranked G5 champion as well.

Sankey knew all this when he helped come up with it. What a joke.

That’s only for 24 and 25. There is no contract after that so if the 12 team playoff continues, you can bet there will be new rules and qualifications.

There will only be 2 super conferences when all is said and done. They will control the CFP, not some silly committee. They will make the rules, put the CFP sites up for bids and control the broadcast rights to all the games. Every team will not get an equal share of the CFPCG loot.

With Clemson possessing "one of" the bigger, nicer stadiums in the country, does that mean that Clemson will get a reasonable share of the loot?

I don’t know why they didn’t just take teams 1-12

Ranked at end of year determined via some composite ranking formula. Clearly conf champs will float to the top of those rankings. And the teams who had really good seasons but didn’t win a conf championship would come in right behind them.

What you don’t want is some team in a weak “Group of everyone else” conf winner with 2 losses getting an auto bid over a 2 loss team in a power conf who played a much tougher schedule and had 2 close losses.
