If Brad Brownell left for another job, would you lose any sleep over it?

I'll go first.
I would definitely lose some sleep. The excitement over the possibility of our Basketball Program finally living up to its potential, especially with the wonderful environment and opportunity that Dabo has created, would make it hard to get to sleep and stay asleep. It may have to be a gummy night.

I sleep like a baby under Brownell now. Wake up crying every 2 hours.

To make this feasible, it would be a job outside of coaching basketball, correct?

He may be passionate, but we have to question his judgment of our "tournament team" last year losing to Morehead State at home and now this year losing 3 straight ACC games by double digits.

WAKE UP ! ! ! ! WAKE UP ! ! ! ! Holy cow - that is some CRAZY sleep

you are in Chuckston T-Man® . . . .
Your scenario means somebody - ANYBODY - would want our guy.
If he is showing the purported "improvement" from years 1-6 to years 7-12 . . . it seems to me, folks would be chomping to get this Brad the Builder on the job for their school.
That ain't happening.
When he's gone here - he will, AT BEST, go to assistant coaching at a mid. Write that down.
And I'm like the first response - I'd be giddy at the possibility of us finally getting someone to make us a great basketball school. Giddy. And since Neff is a basketball junky - per The Cult - he should be able to find us a guy.

You know I have been following Clemson basketball for a long long time. And for some reason we can’t ever play over the hump, I don’t think that it’s the coaching. I think it’s that because of tobacco Road and now Syracuse and Miami we can’t recruit anything but above average players . I think this season we were extremely helpful because we had several above average players but once you begin to play the North Carolina’s and Miami’s you find out just how good we are. I have to say Brownell has been here a long time and this to me as his best year, but having said that he can’t shoot for the kids he can’t defend for the kids all he can do is coach them. So everybody that is so critical needs to realize that part of this is the fact that we’re in the ACC which is totally a basketball conference. I said earlier that if Dabo leaves it’s because of the ACC conference, we are always under tobacco Road and they’re direction and we are always treated like a stepchild. So take it easy on Brownell!

Yeah, he's only had 13 1/2 years to get over the hump. When do you start to wonder if he can get us there? Or do lack of results (consistent NCAA tournament appearances & winning conference championships) not matter because we expect so little?

I would celebrate if he left, but him leaving for another job is simply not possible. No one would hire him.

He's only got a year or two of runway left here anyway. They'll maybe make the round of 32 or S16 this year. And that'll be his highwater mark/legacy. Then he'll leave on his own or they'll part ways. He's young and got to be getting bored. I know I would be getting bored.
