One is a controlled substance and is illegal to possess for smoking at a tailgate. One is legal. Neither is a good example for minors to follow. However, showing minors that it is OK to violate the law, is never a good example to set.

ALL of the parents I know would never allow their underage child decide to change their gender without permission. Yet, certain states appear to prevent the parent from having a say in the matter.

That's just another example that proves my point that what's legal and what most people think is right aren't always the same thing.
Most people didn't want that gender identity law, but it was passed anyway. Most people think weed should be legal, but it's still federally illegal.

The marijuana fight is almost over. Just need to dot the i’s and cross the t’s. People break laws every single day. Weed is a silly law akin in to prohibition, and it’s like liquor it won’t stick. Changing very quickly so all parties need to accept it.

Declassifying marijuana to a level 3 drug still makes it a controlled substance to be dispensed per prescription from a Dr. Those who illegally (non-medically) sell controlled substances are still subject to prosecution and jail time. It's way too early to get all psyched up about legalization. Actually, there are leaders in the DEA fighting the recalssification.
I have no preference today because during my younger years, I smoked enough to fill a barge and drank enough whiskey to float it.

One grows wild and the other is manufactured, and our government could easily tax the alcohol, but with weed that humans liked, it was a problem for the government to tax every bush bc it grew from the earth where they can't control it for collecting the tax from it, and that is the only reason the government made it illegal, and that is the simple true facts of why weed is illegal!!!

I wish a lot less of both went on around kids TBH…especially in public. Throw in vaping and smoking too. But to each his own I guess. If people want to get shit-faced in front of their kids, I guess that’s their choice…but what an example it does set.

I don’t like for my kids to see me holding alcoholic beverages regularly. Usually never doing the week. Sometimes if friends come over on the weekends it will occur. Bad look for them to see on the reg imo.
Don’t smoke weed and never did.
What’s funny to me is, someone smoking a filtered cigarette is basically a leper in society now, but they are trying to glorify smoking pot.

No one is glorifying it, most people are just pointing out the PROVEN medical benefits that it has. maybe not smoking it, but the edibles can be game changing for pain management. you know, instead of the opioids doctors prescribe like candy. For example, when my mom was battling cancer her doctor prescribed her with a synthetic THC pill, not entirely sure exactly what it was, but I do know that it helped her out tremendously with pain and nausea.
lets not get started on the strain that it has put on the taxpayers having people locked up for non violent petty crimes, like marijuana possession.

I’ve seen alcohol make people act so ridiculous I wanted to puke. Never seen that with weed. Also they don’t have to smoke it, they can just do edibles. Plus there are thc pens now the very little odor.

Weed is not different than cigarettes. You can smoke it in public and the smell doesn’t harm you unless you choose to be near a smoking area. Outdoor smoking by others hurts you in no way. If your armpits stink should you be sequestered from the public? You can only get high from sitting in a very closed environment with lots of smoke. My suggestion for you is to avoid it if it bothers you. Just like a cigarette. You don’t like it, then don’t stand in designated smoking areas, which outside in the air is not an enforceable law just because you don’t like it. If you won’t want cancer or don’t like the smell, then avoid it. But public air can’t be regulated in this case.

Oh but that skunky weed is the one you should smoke bc it would be impossible to to beat your wife, kids, or a good friend up if you just smoked some skunk weed, now they might beat the skunk smoker up, but the smoker would most likely laugh while getting beat up
Another thing, weed is about the only thing that will stop the sickness from chemotherapy...

Yep, I used to get it for a friend's mom when she was going through Chemo. It was the only thing that made her get over the sickness and allowed her to eat after treatment.

I've actually never met anyone that got a contact high unless they were closed up in a small area. If it was that easy to get a contact high from someone smoking weed, dealers would go broke bc everybody would just sit around smell another person's smoke from their weed!!!

I would have no problem passing a drug test right now, but I still think pot should be legal for adults. It never should have been made illegal in the first place.
Some people go too far with claims of racism nowadays, but the criminalization of marijuana is one of the most blatant examples of a racist law that has ever existed in this country.

How is it a racist law? Does the law state that only people of a certain race are forbidden to smoke it? The law is written equally for everyone, who the majority users are is irrelevant.
As far as use at the game, vaping it or edibles is ok with me, I just don't want to smell it no more than I want to smell a cigarette or a cigar.

I have seen a whole lot more people that were drinking alcohol and making an A$$ of themselves in public than I will ever see with someone high on weed doing. The high from weed do not and will not cause a person that's high on weed to make a complete A$$ of themselves the way that alcohol causes them to do. Most everybody I've ever known that was high on weed they were completely laid back or laughing having a good time without being confrontational with anyone. The effects of alcohol or THC in a person's system is a difference of night and day as far as which of the two that will cause someone get angry or lose control of right from wrong like alcohol does over THC. And people high on THC don't drive 90 mph all over road. If anything, someone high on THC will drive to slow and you will never see them all over the road bc most will drive like following a straight line. God didn't do anything to make weed bad for you, but people do have to use sugar, corn, fruits or whatever to make alcohol, God didn't allow whisky, wine, or beer to be picked from a tree, vine, or bush!!!

If you really sick with puking everything out of your stomach that goes in, smoke some weed, that'll fix you!!! And it's great for stopping the sickness brought on by chemotherapy!!!

It's harmless fun. Helps people relax after a long day at work. Same reason some people like to have a few beers after work or on the weekend, except there's no hangover, no calories, and no liver damage. Some people use it as a painkiller, or to stimulate their appetite.

Still drink beer, edibles I do not do and go anywhere. Take 1/2 of one, relax and go to sleep for night. Not a high, but useful to me.

Liquor has probably caused more problems than weed ..... but of course we don't know that yet, as way more people partake of alcohol than weed.
However ..... it just so happens that alcohol was first .... and made socially acceptable, so it is what it is!

The younger generations are drinking less alcohol, probably because they have easier access to weed. I personally know people who have stopped drinking and replaced it with weed, and their mental and physical health has only improved. Alcohol and weed really aren't even comparable in terms of the harm they do to your body. Excessive alcohol consumption kills approximately 175,000 Americans every year.

Like I said, regardless of which is worse for you ..... alcohol was first and more acceptable. It may eventually change, but it will be a while.

...are the same type of cat; for a multitude of reasons both are trying to escape reality, they are just using different chemicals. Weed vs. Alcohol is a classic Distinction without a Difference argument.

Alcohol isn’t illegal, weed is.
It’s not ok for both parents to drink and drive a child/children that are too young to drive.
It’s a parents job to teach children right from wrong and how to be responsible and make good decisions . About how to think through situations to make those good decisions

I’m not referring to people eating edibles to help with illnesses like RA or sickness from cancer chemotherapy. If edibles help and you’re at home I don’t have a problem with that. I absolutely don’t condone drinking and driving

… that smoking still consists of setting flammable materials on fire, sticking it in your mouth, and sucking in things that harm your lungs and immune system. Except for the fire part, alcohol is similar, though the harm to your body is in different ways. Neither is particularly defensible.
Edibles wouldn’t really bother me, but I don’t want to have to endure smoke regardless of what you’re burning. It is unpleasant to many and thus inconsiderate.

The cost of enforcing weed laws is not worth it. Legalize it and collect taxes and reduce spending. It's too late to control it anyway. Personally, I don't care for second hand tobacco or pot smoke. IMHO

Bourbon smells like winning. I don't mind sipping a little Eagle Rare in front of my teenager. But that's all I do - sip.
I don't drink to get drunk, and can avoid drunkenness by limiting my intake. However, I haven't yet discovered a way to smoke without getting high.
To your point, I'm not one of those people who'll ridicule all the heads for skunkin' up the air around me while extolling the virtue of those who get fall-down drunk and puke in the bushes.
But neither merit a lot of praise.
