I don't think about them at all. Like not even enough to hate them as Clemson's "rival".

Wetzel's comment about a B1G foothold in our area should

be of imminent concern to the SEC.
Imagine the likes of Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and the west coast additions playing football (and other sports) in the South throughout the school year. The B1G and its members themselves would promote the ding dong dillywhopper out of that scenario. The SEC would commit a gross blunder to cede territory like that, if for no other reasons, recruiting territory.
That in of itself makes me think there have already been behind-closed-doors discussions which have emboldened the FSU powers-that-be, and I surmise that Clemson has been involved.
As for opponents within the SEC, then I also suggest they are more of a self-interest nature and would be overruled for the good of the conference.

Because they know Dabo would crush recruiting in the SEC. We’ve lost out on 5* talent because they want to play in the SEC. Our conference is our biggest hurdle in getting elite talent year after year

Because it would give them a more quality loss. We know an SEC loss is much better than an ACC loss.

“ However, Wetzel notes that "the SEC's goal is to play a level of football that appeals to a national audience," and the conference already has programs in Florida and South Carolina.”
Where is the current SEC team in South Carolina that fits that description?
Some journalism, Erin.

recruiting advantage goes *POOF*.
Greg Sankey would probably have to stand on them even harder to get them to vote for our admission than he did on A&M to get them to vote to admit the Pronghorns.
I just hope at some point that vote gets taken.

I'm beginning to think that reforming the ACC under new leadership and a new TV deal may be in the best interest of Clemson. Ideally I'd like to see a revenue plan based on brand value and for Conferences as we know them now to disappear.

Decision will be made by ESPN if/when they will raise the deal enough to cover whoever is entering. ESPN will not present a deal that drops any of the existing school’s $. The SEC won’t approve any deal that lowers the individual schools (and their own- they get a share too) but if all the parties agree, the decision will be unanimous. It’s not personal, it’s business. $ always rule the day.
