Really truly like DJ but feel it's in his & our best interest for him to..

transfer out after bowl to where his talents are more suited & needed.
Can't see him progressing much more in our system and both parties can part amicably and move on.
Plus, the Clemson program can not afford a 3rd year with DJ as lead QB, and nor can his career somewhere else.
Saying, look at former Auburn QB Bo Nix now who's doing pretty dang good at Oregon.

Was always going to be his last yr?

Meaning what? If the assumption was that this would be his last yr b/c he would go pro, then that no longer applies.
The other option for leaving would be a transfer, sand I can't believe he was always planning on transferring.

Are you saying that Dabo indicated this was DJs last year during the pre-season?

I hope you're right. He's not playing good enough to be a high first round draft pick. Maybe just because of his size and arm strength he might go in the second or third round.

DJ is an undrafted free agent at best. Nothing more than a camp arm at this point.

Absolutely agree. He'd be better in a simpler more spread out offense.

Never thought I'd hear that out of you Bill...dang. But I agree. He's wasting his talents here when I know he can be better somewhere else where he can get some better coaching and actually let him play loose and not have a massive spotlight on him. Especially if he has aspirations of wanting to be drafted. I hate it never worked out for him here like he and we all wanted it to, but it happens.

He won't be in the NFL long but he can definitely be a good college qb in the right system.

I just want to see the kid succeed at this point. If it isn't here then so be it. But I want to see him grow and achieve the best of his abilities. I have no ill will against DJ, never have. He wanted to come here and be a Tiger and that makes him a Tiger in my book regardless. But you are probably right, it may be short lived but I'd rather him get a check from a franchise and say he did it to some degree than never at all.

He'll get on a roster even if it's a practice squad or camp arm. He has the physical tools always worth a look.

What is it that makes you folks think that CK is an improvement over DJ ? The kid has shown absoluitely NOTHING to suggest that he would be an ungrade at QB - not now and not in the future.
Could it be that we are just having to deal with the hangover from having two generational QBs in a row - and now they are gone.

Cade is way more athletic than DJ. I think we need a new QB coach and a new RB coach. Spiller obviously can't recruit worth a hoot!

Well repeating the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of insanity. But in Cades defense he's hardly played and has been thrown into the fire everytime he has recently. Besides, this is talking about next year anyways. If Cade has not improved or even given a chance by then, we really have some issues to sort out.

In order to justify the rationale that Cade is not and will not be better than DJ you have to believe that the coaching staff and system will fail him.
To date he has limited college experience with an elite high school pedigree any power 5 school would want on their roster.

Cade MAY become a great QB but there is no evidence to support that as of now.

If he can't

process complex defenses how's he going to make it in the NFL?
I'm not sure if the coaches aren't simplifying the play book to see if they can spark something in DJ, hence the terrible play calling and performance.
Best bet will be for him to transfer down a level, or go west to the PAC12. Honestly, I thought Cade would have taken over by now, which is a little disappointing.
If DJ was a stock, would you buy, sell or hold?

If DJ was a stock I’d have sold short after NC State.
