Move him down in the batting order to the #7 or #6 spot. He is pressing way too much batting behind Cam Cannarella. Moving him down in the order is the only logical thing to do and will benefit him and the team in my opinion. Just an opinion though. Once he gets his swing and confidence back then slowly move him back up in the order. He is a heck of a player, and this would help him get his mojo back I believe.

I was thinking the same thing over the weekend series.

He has the greatest walk-up song, but he doesn't need to be #2 in the lineup. He can lay down an effective bunt, though.

Agree with both of you. If it's something else, and certainly not suggesting it is, maybe pinetar on his but.
I posted yesterday (camera angles were horrible all weekend) but he seems to have still lost that first quick step in the outfield.

A teams #2 hitter needs to be contact hitter

leadoff man needs a good eye and make pitcher make pitches and get on base any way possible. 2nd hitter needs to effectively make contact and move runners up a base at minimal. #3/4/5 are all run producing hitters who need to be able to drive runs in either by long ball or long fly balls.
Of course the game is ever changing and the idea of "contact" has completely left the game-plan apparently. Now it is long ball or nothing in the big leagues anyway. Clemson needs to move runners base to base when needed and not continue to leave runners on base so often. Still early in the season and this team has some talent that can take the team a long way if they play together, stay healthy, and focus on the little things that help win games.
Go Tigers!!

My HS coach used to say, "Just make contact with the ball, son". And I taught that in coaching little league. When you make contact with the ball and put it in play, all kinds of things can and do happen, especially in HS and college. It puts the defense in a position of having to handle the ball perfectly. And sometimes they make errors or are late on throws, etc..

I trust the coaches and will. He will work himself out of it. A lot of pressure especially behind cam and now focusing on baseball. Everyone has slumps.part of game unfortunately. I mean heck brewer is on fire right now for them chickens.

I agree that he should be moved down, at least temporarily. I believe his grandfather recently passed away(reason he missed the game a couple of weeks ago), and that’s probably having something to do with it. He’s a great young man and athlete.

Did not watch all of the last game. Camera angle was a bit much. It seemed like his last few at bats he made good contact. One if not for the wind could have been a HR. I guess we will see the next few games.

He made solid contact and those you count as a qab…quality at bat. They’ll fall.

My heart hurts for him. He may be the best athlete on the team. I bet he wants the coach to drop him in the lineup because I’m sure he knows what’s best for the team right now. He’s that type of person. His family is that type of people. He gave up a full baseball scholarship to play baseball and did not accept the partial baseball scholarship to help the team. In the NIL world of get all the money you can get, he’s a breath of fresh air.
Will, if you are reading this, Clemson loves you man! Hang in there and break out of that slump by stop dropping your back shoulder and swing level for line drives. The slump is temporary. Nobody better out there.

He’ll hit better when the weather warms up. Pitching is usually ahead of hitting at this stage of the season. Plus, everybody goes through slumps. He’s just having his up front.
