I’m guessing if we had won the national championship in 20 and been in the game last year they would have less to say.

They all said they like Dabo and how he tries to build a unique program and culture.
They sounded more concerned than anything else.

the outside. They love to hate on him because he does things differently. Dabo's methods worked well enough to take Clemson from good to elite, and firmly, unquestionably establish Clemson as one of the country's very best - undeniably on the same level with traditional powerhouses like Alabama, Ohio State, and Oklahoma. In the last 10 years, Dabo has won 2 national championships, and finished in the top 5 four additional times. That's top 5 six of the last ten years. That's pretty good. Dabo's methods work.
Dabo has clearly, openly, and fully accepted the blame. He has publicly acknowledged the problems and shouldered the accountability himself. He's not dodging anything.
His methods work. While the last two seasons have definitely been frustrating and disappointing, and while the blame ultimately falls on Dabo, it's absurd to think that Dabo has lost it, or can't get Clemson back to the top. History, reason, and clear thinking suggets that he can, even if those who never understood him or agreed with his methods are doubting him.

problem. Like I have pointed out, Dabo's methods work, and work extremely well - it can't be argued otherwise. Period. The fact that we have slumped recently is not necessarily and endictment of Dabo's coaching and program building philosophy. I think we have simply lost on some key recruits we hoped we'd get; I think we missed on evaluating a few that we did get; and we've failed to develop some others. That combined with some key injuries along the way have had a major impact. We are simply are not as deep and talented as we have been in the past, for the various reasons I've mentioned. Of course, all of that ultimately comes back to Dabo, but a lot of it is just football, which is filled with things nobody can anticipate. It's the nature of the game, and is not necessarily due to a failed coaching philosophy or refusal to change and adapt.
I don't know that there will be heads rolling after the season, but I do expect, or at least hope that Dabo addresses the failures on offense this year and last, in some public way that gives us some reassurnce that it will get better.

The methods Dabo used to get here are not the same ones in place today. Offense was terrible, got Chad Morris. Defense was terrible, got Brent Venables. Those were both outside hires that changed the landscape for us. Clemson has been a top program that can attract top talent for players as well as coaches. Dabo has chosen to not use the transfer portal for talent and to not use the platform to hire the very best staff he possibly could. The issue is that the program seems very stale, sometimes different perspectives with the same cultural mindset can do wonders for a business or football program. At this point it seems Dabo has a bunch of yes men, and that’s not a recipe for success. I could be wrong about that but watching interviews with some of these coaches that seems to be more accurate by the week.

Because Dabo is trying to be that “coaching clinic” that Saban or Belichik is…He wants to be able to mold and produce coveted coaches for head coaching giggs…He’s not good at that

Dabo has the luxury of Coaching in the ACC. The last 3 years we could not complete with the top dogs . It’s time for some change before it all goes down , just a little tweak

Their respect and really an affection for Clemson - its culture and care - reiterated in the piece. Thought they raised questions - left door open for a wrong read of situation. They like Dabo. Always have.

I was simply stating what the GameDay guys were talking about as far as reasons for Clemson’s issues.
And most reasonable fans on here agree with them. Even if you don’t agree, no reason for calling people names. It’s called a forum for a reason.
Sorry if you can’t do reading comprehension. I bet high school was hard for you.

I don’t suffer fools well, as they say, and you are a fool if you take those guys seriously. High school was rather easy academically, but football was rough because I was a late bloomer. I’m all good now so what do ya say?

I would tend to agree...Dabo needs to coach with his head and develop the players and coaches with his heart... he talks about BYOG ...Guts... but doesn't coach with them
