Baltimore and Carolina were the only NFL teams that have never drafted a Clemson player.

Panthers are my local team and I don’t even like them anymore. I’m fed up with them never drafting Clemson players. It’s not like our players were/are shabby. Then Tepper cancelled the plans to put their headquarters in Rock Hill. That really disappointed many people in this area. My new fave teams are the ones that DO draft multiple Clemson players.

because the expansion teams hand is forced to a degree but still a good catch by tigergirlga–but count or not, the belief that it's a systematic exclusion is a ridiculous notion-

The Expansion Draft DOES NOT COUNT, because ALL those

players had either already been drafted by their original teams, or entered the league as UDFAs. In the "Common Draft", which is the real draft when each team gets one pick per round, the Panthers have never, ever taken a Clemson player.
Last night was just another example. The Panthers felt they needed a linebacker, in the third round, and Trenton Simpson, top rated player at that position at the beginning of the draft by some, and certainly the top rated player still available at that time in the draft, was passed over by the Panthers to take a guy from Oregon. Seriously?
When Simpson was finally taken by the Ravens later in the third round, the whole crew said they couldn't believe he was still on the board that late into the draft. Neither could I.

They were looking for an Edge guy. Simpson is too small to play edge. Wouldn’t have been good for either party to force that.

The panthers are killing their own ticket sales & support and aren’t smart enough to realize it. Imagine if they would have taken Hunter Renfrow, Deshaun, Big Dex, Christian Wilkins or Nuke where they would be today!

The biggest head scratcher was passing on Isaiah Simmons

in 2020 with the #7 pick, then Arizona got him at #8. Luke Kuechly had just retired and Isaiah had that awesome combine with the 4.39 40 time at 238 pounds and had proven he is a great coverage linebacker. He's played well at Arizona.

But Derrick Brown has been better. Simmons is a solid player but Brown is one of the best at his position. They made right decision

Would you really go to Clemson on a Saturday then go to Charlotte on Sunday just to watch one former player?
I know I wouldn’t for one Gamecock.

to avoid the topic around them, but I'm surprised they seem to never have a slot for a Clemson player.
Difficult to call it deliberate, so I just regard it as us never having a player to fit their needs. Interesting, especially when you consider the talent from Clemson going into the NFL over the past ten years or so.
The mitigating factor for me is my preference for college football and a little following of pro teams with Clemson players.

I don’t think it’s deliberate. It’s frustrating watching the mid to late rounds and they pass on a Clemson player at a position of need.
