How did Dabo let it get this bad?

Our offense is pitiful. We struggled against the worst team in D1. It’s getting ridiculous. He’s gotta stop defending a qb that had a less than 50% completion rating against UCONN

Signs were ignored because we had TL16 who could overcome it. Now it’s become a glaring problem

It was over looked bc we had the #1 QB to be drafted into the NFL in Trevor Lawrence. That is how and why bc they actually believed that DJ was going to be as good, but I'm betting that somebody on our coaching staff didn't see it being that way!!!

That was last year. We're 10 games into this season. Tell me what was missed. Because they definitely missed. My problem us they let it go ten games into a season and it's really not any better. And definitely not where it should be. There is no excuse.

I think we had signs before LSU but we made it there and we had the first #1 pick QB at Clemson that would have been the #1 pick after his freshman year. When he started soph year and threw some int's, ppl were saying that TLaw should just sit for next 2 yrs because he wasn't developing under Clemson and he could get professional preparedness training and save his body.
But TLaw being a gamer, he wanted to play thankfully. But we have had several years now where commentary has questioned our abilities to grow QBs. Just look at DW4 soph yr and he had that run of INTs and people were saying the same. If we were developing QBs, I think DW4 and TLaw were unquestionably the Heisman winner's in at least one of their years. But they always showed a regression under our coaching which shouldn't happen but it's a trend, a trend that seems to continue.
But, yes we have shown regression on Offense and I truly think it's Jeff Scott but a combo of him and his dad leaving. Not just one but both. The extra coaching of the OL, the extra offensive suggestions from Brad. Then the WR coaching from Jeff and the offensive suggestions. The loss of both of them was a huge loss and look at the yrs of experience.
We replaced Brad and Jeff with HS coaches and former players with zero experience. I bet we have fewer yrs of coaching experience on our staff than 90% of the FBS teams in the US.

Hopefully we’re getting them all out of the way this year.
I won’t say that injuries are the whole issue, but they are a huge issue.

You weren't hear back in the West-Hatfield-Bowdown dayz! You stop your sniveling and rub some dirt on it and git back in line fella! We don't question the great wisdom of a coach who has brought us 2 Nattys! If he wants to ease the strains on the Clemson faithful's purse strings for one year. Then so be it! He knows we are a small, but loud and proud fanbase. With only so much cash to offer the Playoff Championship road games year in and year out! It's All Part of the Plan.

that someone who looked as good as DJ did in two starts last year would turn out to be a bust.
Nor could it have predicted the army of injuries that have befallen this team.
Sometimes, you are just swimming upstream against too strong a current to make any headway. That seems to be a great analogy for this season.

See, it's possible for there to be continual developmental issues at various positions on the team (namely OL and QB, and to a lesser extent TE) and still have the success you mention. It works when you get someone field-ready right out of high school, but they're going to be about as good in their junior year as their freshman year. It doesn't work when their talent needs more honing.

DJ was a Heisman candidate coming into the year, but let's be honest - DJ is a liability, and we don't really have any other options. I appreciate Dabo's optimism that DJ can mentally recover, but DJ is a mess.
And I don't think I've ever seen a season with so many injuries. The OL is especially hit hard, and some of the guys playing now are not physically ready.
These are the primary reasons for the lack of quality play.

Then the million dollar question is: How did Clemson get to the point that we don't have a QB on tge team that can replace the 113th best QB in College football? How dies that happen at a top 5 Program? All the fans just want the insanity to stop on offense. But thus us who we got. How did that happen? That DJ is the best we got.

Lol really. Comparing the benching of KB for TL to DJ for TP ??????. TP has not done a single thing against decent competition, just mop up duty and throws look bad. He is not an option because as bad as DJ looks he is superior to TP other than mobility due to knee injury

We are 7-3. I feel we are going to finish 9-3. We loss a dog fight to the best team in the country. We loss in ot to nc state. Nothing about the season has been pretty but no one has quit. With all the injuries and poor play on the offense side we find ways to win games. People need to get a grip. It’s disappointing it’s not end of the world. The defense will be just as good next year and the offense can only get better. We are nothing like FSU. The year they fell off they fell off.

FSU's fall started in 2015 when they finished 10-3 and made a New Year's 6 bowl. It wasn't all of a sudden. I'm not trying to say that we will take the same path, but we do need to make some changes.

Injuries are an issue, but not the main issue. Our offense has been inept since the first snap this year. Offensive line can’t open holes. DJ holds on to the ball too long, stares down receivers, panics when option 1 isn’t open, is hesitant to run when needed, and misses far too many open throws. Receivers can’t get separation, don’t seem to want to fight for balls, and we’ve played guys in positions they have no business being in. RB’s have been bad, but have been the more solid of all groups. East hung todays game, I felt like Rob Spence had slipped in and started calling WR screens all day too.

You are spoiled or crazy or both. Clemson wins 2 natties, and then according to you slips when they lose in playoffs - one in natty and one in semi. This bad? 7-3. Sure, not a good year, but not a bad one either. Sometimes players don’t simply meet the expectations that fans have for them. Sometimes the players take longer to develop. Sometimes, injuries contribute. Sometimes, chemistry does not happen.
If your expectation is that Clemson should win every single national championship. Well, you are off your rocker.

We were being compared to Alabama. There was dynasty talk on ESPN and other sports shows. It was Clemason and Bama and then Everyone else. Now Bama is still there alo g with OSU and GA. We gave fallen off a cliff in comparison. Stop using past years accomplishments. We have glaring problems. And missing on a 5 star QB and a 4 star QB is killing us. You can't fix what you don't admit too. If you don't admit yoy have a problem then you can't fix the problem.

Dude, there’s nothing he can do right now. He has a team that’s been decimated by injuries. The O line absolutely stinks. Its just been an awful year and he’s trying to hold things together until he can make changes in the off season. We have a good QB on the way. Just chill for two more games.
