Yeah that's sad af and disappointing they're already giving Alabama the excuses with a little over a month away before they even play the bowl game.

If we end up in the Orange Bowl I feel like we will have 5-6 opt outs this year. A 10 win season is not on the line and we have some who can go Top 15 that probably want to start working towards the combine. I don’t remember us having highly-touted draft picks last year that would have opted out. Ross and Turner and Spector were post-surgery recoveries. Booth went in the bottom of the 1st.

We have never had players opt out even when going to a lesser bowl game.

I still think we should be #6 and are being ripped off, but win 2 and play Bama or Tenn. will be watched by a ton of people and should be a great matchup. You can only do what you can do. Quit losing to inferior talent and we are 2 or 3.

What inferior talent are you talking about? ND recruits at a high level.

We were ranked #4, ND was just rank (unranked). We were favored by 2 TD’s and lost by 3 TD’s. We weren’t prepared, no game plan and no offense. All of which viewed by voters and a national audience. We could not have laid a bigger goose egg.

LOL! Alabama or Tennessee "Don't want to be there!"
Heck put someone like the G5 rep (Tulane) that wants to be there.

A loss by team (s) ahead of us will get us in the big four. I am looking at a pairing up with TCU..is that a possibility or will the conferences not match up?

If they stay the course, they will fix it, put teams in order so that the Dogs play who ever will be the easiest for them to beat in the first round of the playoffs to assure they make it to the NC game!!!

With all the opt outs happening now, who really cares about bowls anymore. It will continue to worsen as years go by.

Tired of playing SEC teams. Would welcome a game versus Penn State. Might even help recruiting in PA. My son-in-law is a Penn State graduate and big sports fan. Luckily, we won't be watching the game together as he lives in Pittsburgh...

Understandable in my book

Especially after unranked Notre Dame had been beaten down at home by Marshall and Stanford, two truly bad teams.

Would the Notre dame team that is playing now is a much better team than the one that lost to Stanford and Marshall as far as how they’re playing. If ND beats USC at usc and we win out we should be in, no matter what tcu does. Michigan has played an incredibly soft schedule and their only win against a ranked team is psu at home. Clemson needs to handle this week first and worry about that. If they survive this week then win against UNC this discussion matters

Getting better only happens to LSU.. no way ND has improved.

So the pollsters now apparently hold against us all the teams we played that were pretty highly ranked at the time “because they aren’t ranked now” (see Wake, NCSU, Syr, etc.), but then they also hold ND against us “because they weren’t even ranked” at the time. There’s like this bizarre double-standard I see that only applies to Clemson. Is it just because we’re in the ACC, which is generally perceived as a weak conference, or is it something else? Because it seems like SEC losses to unranked opponents are excused, especially if they lose to other SEC teams. But maybe I’m just attempting to understand a problem using logic and intelligence that’s based solely on personal feelings and biased media perception. *Sigh…*

Just win and we will be in the playoffs

They are trying their best to down play us any way they can, it’s ridiculous to feed the negative media machine when they know we have a great shot at being in the playoffs with only one loss if we win our last two.
It’s ridiculous because they wouldn’t do that with any one loss SEC or Big10 champion.
This will make it sweeter when we get in the playoffs. They are trying to influence the playoff committee and I believe it’s been working for LSU & Alabama being ahead of us.
You know Dabo isn’t real happy about it either but he will use it as motivation as us against the world.
Let’s keep winning & peaking Tigers….
