I’m with you. Can’t get fresher than .5 miles from the ocean. Most good seafood restaurants on the coast buys directly from the boats.

Had shrimp and grits there about 3 weeks ago. Very good. Breakfast and lunch is always good too.

Hou are very correct. Love catching my own. Triggerfish on the grill caught that day is second to none.

We are very fortunate to have great seafood restaurants in SC. I have not see any on here mentioned at Hilton Head so I will add the Crazy Crab 278 and the Quarterdeck at Harbour Town.

The Anchor Line! Small, hole in the wall place

that was on the right side of Folly Rd between Bowen’s Island and Folly River. Trawler docked at the restaurant! Closed down now but they had the best &’freshest seafood around! One of the rare places that served shark. Loved taking guests from “off” there! I’d get the shark and with a straight face highly recommend it. “It’s not bitter at all - well, depending on who it ate!”
GO TIGERS!
Here’s a surprise seafood place at the I-26 Clinton exit. Sometimes stay at Clinton after a Clemson game to breakup the drive back to the Lowcounty. Went up Friday before the Notre Dame game and ate at the Blue Ocean restaurant. The fried shrimp were really good and the serving on the “regular” size was huge! Anyone else ever eat there?

The Wreck is all fried everything, so I'm not sure how you eff up fried food.
But in late spring and early fall, they do have one of the best locations for happy hour at the back bar.

Haven’t seen it posted yet, and hesitant to spread word and make it even harder to get a table than it already is, but Chubby Fish in Charleston might be serving the best seafood in the country right now.
