record. I think it was the fact that our trust in our team and program has been broken and permanently damaged. The Orange Bowl Debacle and this are two permanent embarrassing scars that we will never get over. ESPN was there to showcase our program Saturday night. It would have been okay to lose if we had been competitive, but we weren't. We were terrible. We did nothing to protect our home turf. In fact we made a mockery of it. I will always love the Tigers, but the high we were all riding is done and it won't be back. I hope we can beat Maryland this coming Saturday, but now I'm very doubtful we will and that is a shame.

Sorry to the people who don't agree with me but I hated their band and fans being on the field after the game. They can't do that in their house. I hate that big drum!

I am really sorry to hear Clemson fans talk in such a way. There is no way you are more embarrassed than the member of the team. Great teams do not always play great but they regroup and continue to compete. It's very unfortunate that our team lost, but all teams have bad nights. The proof of a great team is in the regrouping and the continuing to work and play competitively. In the same way great fans hang with their team and back their team no matter what even through a tough loss. Go Tigers!

Exactly right. If we turn around and win out, these same people will totally forgive and forget that FSU loss. Hell, even if we don't win out, but beat the chickens, most will forgive and forget....at least most people did under Bowden.

police along the top of the upper decks to keep people from jumping Saturday night. Good Lord have mercy. Noboy gets more nervous and upset than I do. My heart gets in knots, but when its over its over. Do damage control and move on to the best season possible.
There are real tragic events going on in this world. The clemson-FSU game is not one of them. There are innocent people suffering all over the world. Football fans of a team that loses a game are not among them. It is just that simple.

My son put on the best display of sportsmanship all weekend

I sit in Section S, only about 10 rows away from the visitor's section--so there were Seminoles all around me at the game, and of course the band is playing in my right ear all game. We were surrounded by some very ecstatic, and sometimes rather obnoxious FSU fans. It was not pleasant. (Other than the fact we're in the lower deck, I despise my seats.)
At the beginning of the 4th quarter my son turned to me and said "Losing this bad stinks, dad. ...Can we get some cheese fries?" And that's about the last time he mentioned the loss. He had already put the loss behind him. He was happy because he'd had a great day with his dad, and because he was getting cheese fries. It was a blast of perspective--and not wanting to ruin his great day forced me to put the loss behind me as well.
Some of our fans, including some very vocal ones on Tnet, need to take a step back and realize this loss isn't the end of the season--much less the world. We still have every opportunity to put together a great 12-1 campaign and we still have some critical goals ahead of us, including putting an end to this ignominious 4-year losing streak to the chickens. We also have a chance to embarrass Maryland at home, to pound White Meat into the ground like they so richly deserve, to humiliate Georgia Tech in front of a national office, and enjoy an inspiring military-themed victory over The Citadel--in which we're almost guaranteed to see Daniel Rodriguez score his first TD.
Will it stink not to make the ACCCG or the BCSCG? Of course. But I'm not going to sit and smolder in my own misery. If I want to make myself miserable there are PLENTY of other opportunities in life to do so--ones that cost a lot less than an IPTAY membership and season tickets--and I'd much rather enjoy the rest of the season than be bitter about one loss.

Wake 30-0. They lost to us 35-14 and 40-24 in the last six years or so. I saw Nebraska get blown out of the park in the Big Ten Championship and to Georgia in the bowl. South Carolina lost the SEC title game 56-17 to Auburn. And lost to us 63-17.
After the Orange Bowl debacle, we were picked preseason #11 the following year and finished #9. Auburn lost all of its conference games last year and ended with 38-0 loss to Georgia and 49-7 to Bama, now they are number 11 or something like that.
I'll bet you'd be surprised at the big time programs that have been blown out in the last 5 to 10 years. Look at Notre Dame's championship game last year. Look at VT's ACC Championship vs Clemson.

Permanently damaged? Give it a few more days, Rum.

It's just an L. They happen with great regularity to all but the most select of teams. The domestic sports world, plus their algorithms, say we're still a top 10 team - in the nation. Now if we go on a Bowdenesque plunge from here on out this season that's another thing. We've got a lot of football left though and a chance to right the ship before it's all said and done. Lick your wounds, learn your lesson, get stronger and meaner and move on. We got whipped by a better team Saturday - that's about it.
I'm betting on the Tiger players and staff to respond well and finish out the season in solid fashion. There's too much of a strong foundation underneath our program now to let Saturday's face plant rule the day.
