What DR knows he learnwed from Clemson, not the other way around. CU and CU Athletics will be just fine if he leaves. Just blow the bugle, 'Next Man Up'.

I can see this happening if Drad does move on. Dabo is promoted to Ad and BV is promoted to head coach. What a way for Clemson to keep both forever.

Not arguing but my take, Coach V is the best DC in the country. Dabo will excel in whatever he does! I just cannot make the connection between Coach V and HC.
I’ve been wrong many times before.

I agree. I think Dabo could be a good AD but I just don’t think now is the time. I think he will want to coach for quite a few more years before making a move like that. And we’ve been saying all week that BV has said he doesn’t want all the junk that comes with being a HC. That would include being HC at Clemson.

His first signal this would not be a good move is that they are already offering a football coach ( and their coach is still employed) their job without an AD in place. Typically that’s the AD’s job. Very definition of dysfunctional.

Those saying Dabo not an AD and citing a stupid coot for comparison is apples and oranges. Tanner ain't done chit but who at uof8c has?
Dabo - sell ice to an Eskimo Dabo - meticulous in detail. Detail oriented Dabo - pretty much built the ops cntr and west ez Dabo- exceptional management skills Dabo- exceptional mediator Dabo- excellent financial skills Dabo- as charismatic as they come. Sure our competition and esecpn hates him out of jealousy. Dabo- inspirational, uniter not a divider Dabo- goes to more Clemson sports events than DRad Dabo- every coach except Brownell (I think) that coaches a team at Clemson has asked Dabo to speak with said team before a big game/event Dabo- well respected by peers
But I would be behind him being AD/FB coach and CBV the official head ball coach. If there's anyone that could pull it off is Dabo. Ask LBB, Dabo has more drive to succeed than any coach in cfb.

I agree that Dabo has everything needed to be a great AD. I just don’t think he is ready to stop coaching - yet. I don’t think trying to be both AD and football coach at the same time is a good idea. GA tried this years ago with Vince Dooley and it failed. And I don’t think either job has gotten any easier since then.

Who cares, the extensions but he’s giving Brownell made me think he’s a fool. He didn’t hire Dabo so he’s really done nothing

matters to most of this fan base while he's been here. I know everyone wants to give all of that credit to Dabo and absolutely none of it to DRad, and maybe that's true, but i don't understand this mentality that he's done nothing and we would be better off without him. Why rock the boat like that? The next guy could be a disaster (think Ray Tanner).

DRad is underpaid. A raise (which he deserves given success of overall programs) will keep him. Tigers must improve basketball and baseball and get track and field back. Other sports seem strong. Academics and donations are positive. Still room to grow.

They will have to match DRad salary offer plus 7% because of state taxes in SC

Why would you leave Clemson for Miami?
Dec 4, 2021, 8:12 AM
|
|
I get that it’s Miami, the city, but Clemson’s football facilities are top notch and the program is winning while Miami is a mediocre program right now. When the hurricants keep treating water, they’ll look for a new AD and HC.
