Every last one of the ACC schools signed that agreement, and they all knew exactly what they signing at the time that it was signed. It was when ESECPN gave the SEC 3 times more money for their GOR than they gave the ACC in an attempt to keep the ACC from competing with the SEC, and that is exactly what they did, and I believe that was in their plans when they done the GOR with the ACC, it was a well planned scheme by ESECPN when it was being done!!!

I tend to agree. As conspiracy theory as it gets but I believe you may be onto something. ESPN has always shown contempt for the ACC. Who can forget Reece Davis and the ACC Wheel of destiny. I’ll add to your conspiracy theory. I think Phillips at least has to be in on it. I’ve been stumped though as to whether they wanted to keep the ACC down to benefit of the SEC or whether they just conspired to get a bargain basement deal on the ACC?

Call it conspiracy theory or whatever sounds good to you when you hear it said, but it does seem awful strange that Swoffy agreed to the deal not long before he retired, then as soon as he retires Phillips is crowned the the new ACC commissioner that has been saying whatever he feels he has to say to get all the ACC schools to just accept the screw job that Swoffy agreed on.
It would seem like that the new commissioner would want to go to war with ESECPN over a deal that is guaranteed to bring the ACC way down below any power 5 conference. He has chose to just accept it, and out the same side of his mouth he is threating to sue any school that disagrees with the deal, or whoever doesn't lay down and shut up about how the ACC got screwed!!!
With the way all of this came about, I'm almost convinced that the deal that the ACC got prior to a new deal with the SEC, that it had been planned to be this way before Swoffy ever agreed to the new deal ESECPN made with the SEC. IMO, it was a great way for ESECPN to be sure that the ACC couldn't compete with the SEC with what's coming for college sports as in a super conference, and the SEC can sit back and hand pick the team that will benefit the SEC the most bc they will only need like 3-4 very strong schools to compete in a super conference year in and year out, and ESECPN made sure there would be enough money for them to do just that. And the ACC will get broken up, or have to maintain well below all other conferences, and I don't put any of that past the $$$$ folks.....

Honestly, it's not a conspiracy. The SEC's product simply generates more revenue, do the get a better deal. Not much more to it than that.

This. Timing is a factor as well. The SEC signed a 10 year deal, the ACC signed a 20 year deal. So the SEC got to renegotiate at the peak of insanity with TV revenue. Every president from every university signed up for this. And one of the things they applauded about the deal is that is locks everyone in long term. Remember, this was right on the heels of Maryland leaving and they didn't want anyone else to leave. Well, there you go. Mission accomplished!

I would place my bet that FSU don't give a ratsass what the ACC does or doesn't do as long as they will release them from the worst conference in all of college sports!!!
FSU should amend their suit that ESECPN fully intended to stab the ACC in the back with their GOR deal knowing they would give the SEC 3 times more with their GOR so that the ACC could no longer compete with the SEC, the conference that ESECPN has always thrown the most of their conference money at...

From reading the part about disclosing ESPN contract info., that must mean that the ACC complied with the Fl AG demand that they turn over all materials of any kind, including a copy of the ACC/ESPN media rights contract. How could FSU disclose that info. IF the ACC did not give them a copy which no other ACC school has. So, the ACC is FOS if it thinks a court is going to punish FSU for questioning the GOR.

The court should have questions of why ESECPN has always made the SEC GOR sweeter than it's ever done for the ACC, and why so!!! The answer is so the SEC could stop the ACC from being competitive with the SEC, and that is the exact reason there is such a huge discrepancy in the GOR money given between the two conferences. It was in ESECPN's plan to hold the ACC back with much less money to use for competing with the SEC!!! If Swofford was as smart as he believed he was, he should have seen such a huge discrepancy of the money that would be given between the ACC and the SEC bc ESECPN had already been giving the SEC a little more up until they had the ACC locked into a 20 year GOR deal, and that was when they opened up their checkbook for the SEC to create a huge gap between the SEC over the ACC!!!
The two GOR deals made between the two conferences had to be a long time planned deal by ESECPN to help the SEC to put a big gap between themselves and the ACC just as the two GOR deals has done....

One problem is that problem keeps mixing up the GOR with the TV contract. There isn't anything "sweeter" about the SEC's GOR. The difference is thr TV contract. Two different things.

May have been at one time, but ESECPN put a sizable set of brakes on the ACC, at the same time putting a lot more money into the schools of the SEC!!!

That is what the attorney, FSU alum, is saying.

He's the guy y'all will see on several youtube channels talking about the Suit. Doug Rohan.
He is saying that the ACC will do anything possible to keep the GOR (and negotiations leading to it) out of the public eye.
I think his words were something like the filing today was "maybe not panic, but close" or words to that effect.

I'm hearing things on youtube channels...

.... that are clearly pro-FSU. This document filed today by the ACC is a document where the ACC is stating their position. I've seen some sites where people are reading Thamel's tweet and saying, "Well, that settles it. The ACC wins. FSU loses. Case closed."
Oviously, I want FSU to win. (And, I think Clemson fans should want FSU to win also. Otherwise by 2036 the ACC will be as irrelevant to college football as the PAC2 or the Sunbelt.)
But, we'll all just have to sit back and see how it all works out. This ain't a Matlock episode where it will all be tied up in a neat little bow in a few days. Lot of twists and turns in the road ahead. And, the finish line is not in sight.

I want it all exposed, if there was an attempt by ESECPN to keep the ACC down and unable to compete with the SEC, I want that out also bc looking at how all this went down with the SEC getting 3-4X's better GOR deal than the ACC, it sure looks like a conspiracy laid out by ESECPN, and maybe Swoffy was in on it at the end of his career. Something fishy happen with the deal that Swoffy made with ND and them having the same rights as a member school as in playing for our conference championship with them never being a member with their FB program!!!

think, "What in the holy heck needs to be hidden from the public?"
And who in the thunder created that monstrosity that doesn't allow members to question the GOR, and furthermore, why did the schools agree to it?
The whole thing smells of shystering by both the Conference leadership and ESPN to slip a potent monkey down our collective throats.

FSU crapped in their mess kit...they signed it twice and now are mad at the ACC...notice they did not sue ESPN...if Clemson has anything to do with the FSU side of this issue then we are crazy as FSU...no loyalty, no keeping your word...FSU has and always be the gutter scumb of the ACC...in the end we (ACC) will be better off without them. If it turns out that the Ole commish willfully created a fraudulent contract with ESPN then he will get what's coming to him...but FSU breaking their contract is on them...money hungry thugs!

Honestly, the only thing that makes me want FSU to win is how it will affect Clemson ...... and according to their "case", as they see it, it involves Florida constitutional law, so what happens with them may not even be applicable to us. Personally, I believe in honoring contracts. It seems the mistake that all the ACC schools made is allowing such a long term contract to be tendered. Several have mentioned that it was a reaction to Maryland leaving, which I think is correct. I knew John Swofford when the was the AD at North Carolina, and I don't think there was anything sinister behind him doing what he did, just a very ill advised business decision ..... very very, as Danny would say!
