about our conference, our schedule, our coach, our team or our fans, but I'll say this: in all the nearly 50 years of my devotion to Clemson and the Clemson family my pride literally brought this older grad to tears yesterday, when I saw over 80,000 people standing, clapping and cheering to the top of their voices when Daniel led our men down The Hill with Old Glory waving mightily for all of America to see! D@mn...I am proud of Clemson and our family....

Socialist, but I don't want to you waste your evening fruitlessly scouring the Internet for Hannity quotes. All I say is that you're not patriotic AT ALL if you boo the President of the United States on a day in which we were supposed to be honoring America's military. There's nothing you can say to refute that. How would you feel had the members of the audience who are upset we're still in Afghanistan booed those members of the military who were introduced?
C'mon--you don't have a patriotic bone in your body if you think what happened yesterday was some sort of exercise in free speech.

far from an Obama supporter. I'm not voting for him in the upcoming election. However, the same tired argument calling him a socialist is ridiculous and untrue. The Socialist Party of America certainly doesn't claim him as one of their own. They are on the record saying that he is far too moderate and to the extreme right of their party platform.
Just because Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck said it on talk radio doesn't make it true. It's certainly not very American to be a socialist, but calling someone something that is blatantly false doesn't make your argument any stronger. It's okay to be critical of a politician. It's not okay to make up lies and baseless classifications in order to do that.

Fascism is a right wing ideology. It is the complete opposite of socialism on the political spectrum. A fascist oligarchy is what left wing extremists accused Reagan of trying to turn America into in the 1980's. That is completely different from Obama.
You let the fact that Obama promotes socialized medicine equate to him being a socialist.

I agree. Jeremiah Wright is clearly a racist.
When exactly has Obama been a Muslim?? I'm sure you can find instances of where people have called him a Muslim. However, the only evidence they have to support their claim is where he went to school when he lived in the Islamic nation of Indonesia.

Just because you associate with someone doesn't make you guilty of the same things that they are. The law sometimes considers the hand of one to be the hand of all. But that is only in circumstances where someone is in some way aiding the person committing the crime in their criminal activity. If I have someone in my family that is a criminal and I have Thanksgiving dinner with them, that doesn't make me a criminal. Also, if someone who is a member of my church uses marijuana regularly, I'm also not guilty of any crime.
President Bush had business ties to the Bin Laden family. I know that Bin Laden's family cut ties with Osama decades ago. However, if people are guitly by association, then the Bin Laden family is guilty of terrorism. By the transitive property, does that make President Bush a terrorist?

into two camps. The first believes that no matter who holds the office it deserves respect and in a situation like yesterday politics should be set aside. This is an honorable position. The second group is a bunch of sychophants who worship Obama and believe he is a God. This group believes any critism of their god is not just blasphamy but racist. They are the ones who booed Bush when he was president, called him a Nazi and would just as soon spit on our military men and women as look at them. Which group do you belong to?

I belong to the crowd that supports free speech. The timing of the boos may not have been ideal, but our freedom to speak out is one of the things that makes this country great. I did not boo myself - just not my style. But don't make this out to be anything bigger than it is.

there probably was a few boo's because of his color, just like bush and all the other past presidents were sometimes boo'ed 'cause of their color. i personnaly think obama was /is chastised more for his warm feelings toward many muslim countries that are unfriendly towards the u.s..than because of his color. the race card is played too often, and too easily.

You think President Bush got unfairly criticized because of his color in the same way that Obama is criticized for his? That's crazy. The amount of racism toward white people is no where near the level of racism toward black people. Even if the percentage of people of other races who criticize were the same, the total amount of racism would never be the same because white people make up the vast majority of the population.

I thought it was terrible, and classless when Bush was booed, and I think the same thing about Obama being booed. It is embarrassing. If you don't like the president then vote for the other guy, but I for one am tired of all the hatred towards our DEMOCRATICALLY elected president and anyone who supports him. That goes for both parties.

I wonder who he supports for president? What if he supports Obama? Do we take back our cheers for him?
There are members of the military who support the president. Even if they don't support him politically, he is still their Commander in Chief. I wonder how they felt about their tribute being turned into a petty, hate filled, partisan political rally.

And I would suggest that it's naive to suggest that a vast number of racists voted for the current president because, and ONLY because, he is black. I also believe that if there has EVER been a president who deserved to be booed publically, it is this one. He's fully earned it, and it has NOTHING to do with the color of his skin.

It's not naive at all. When 97% of a demographic votes the same way when historical voting shows a different voting tendency for that demographic, and when all other demographics voting in that same election were much closer to a 50/50 or 60/40 split, it suggests that racism is strong.

Correction - naive to suggest that those racists DIDN'T vote for him because and only because he's black. Funny how those folks get a pass for that racism, despite how catastrophic it is for our nation. It just goes to show how foolish and shallow this nation has become, to elect such a weak, corrupt "leader".

Mark me up as naive. I was at the southern 500 when Clinton was booed as the honorary Marshall. I don't think that had anything to do with his skin color either. It's a nice cop out though. Nice try. If by some chance Obama is defeated in November I'm sure we'll here more of this racist crap. Ironically, his skin color is the only reason many will vote for him. Now u tell me who's racist?

I have been to many military appreciation days at Clemson, but Saturday was the most special of all. There were many women and yes even some men, wiping tears away from their eyes on several occasions. I will never leave my seat at half time again on that special day.

and patriotism overwhelmed me and brought me to tears. One was when I stepped off the plane and touched American soil after a 6 month deployment to Iraq & Kuwait and the other was this Saturday in the Valley when Daniel was reunited with the pilots that helped rescue his outpost.

Understand the feelings...Twice during my four-years

active service I returned to the States on both coasts, and I'll never forget the humility I felt having been away for over three years, and that was over 40 years ago. Yet, after all these years I remain grateful for the opportunity to serve. Perhaps, it was the sight of that young, 24-year-old carrying the flag that brought back a flood of personal memories; perhaps, it was the crowd acknowledging him....I won't forget the moment.
