The more points Clemson get, the more money I'm gonna make on the money line.
But ####, I've been in this racket for some time and don't recall a big game shifting like this on a Monday.

More often than not Vegas knows more than the public. It's clear who the public favors...we'll see Saturday.

Just means the line was set wrong in the first place. Thankfully, the line is nothing but a popularity contest.

How are you going to make more money? Your book is still charging you 10-15points juice.
I failed math, sorry

I was waiting on this line to flip, Knew it would. Rare to see a 5.5 point line shift in 24 hours, as Clemson opened as 3.5 pt favorite. The average Joe is all over L'ville bc of media hype. Can bet the sharps/smart money/big players are on Clemson.
If it goes to Clemson + 3 I'm thinking of dropping a dime on CU moneyline

Could be wrong, but I've followed lines/gambling enough to know which sides the sharps are usually taking.

No doubt that the public is all over Louisville

but with the line moving 5-5.5 pts already and even more movement possible, the middle just looks really appealing. I would've done it if we weren't involved, but i rarely ever bet anything on Clemson games*
*Disclaimer: I only bet like $1 at a time and just do it for fun.

I didn't mean the sharps will be split on either side in regards to liking Louisville or Clemson. I meant that they will literally be betting both sides at the same time. Like Louisville +3.5 and then Clemson +3.

This. This isn't a subtle line swing throughout the week reflecting the betting public's reaction to the line. This is a straight 5.5 pt swing in less than 48 hours. Sharps are banging for maximum arbitrage.
GO TIGERS!!!

First time since joining rhe ACC and probably a while before that, and also has the Heisman favorite, on the road at thier first true road game of the year after cruising past 4 opponents without breaking a sweat? With everyone tuning in to see how easy that offense scores?
Call it in the air, #8..

Spreads do not come out until Monday mornings. I saw where a couple sites opened at Clemson -3/3.5, but mine opened at Clemson -2 and is currently Clemson +2.
Also Bovada has not provided an Over/Under yet.

The betting line is meaningless....

It's simply a number the casinos use as a median in an effort to generate betting interest from both sides.

happen in the game, and some of those people are very, very intelligent people that do it for a living. Of course there are also a bunch of saps just throwing away their money, but in the end you get a pretty accurate prediction which is why very, very, few people are able to win long term.
Obviously Louisville -2 doesn't mean we aren't going to win the game, but i wouldn't exactly call it an encouraging sign either.

of bookies adjusting the line in order to get even money from both sides.

I think (most) people know that, but think a little deeper.

Vegas can't afford to just set bad lines. There are really smart people out there waiting for that to happen so they can pounce on it. Their lines need to be pretty accurate. Wild movement in a line is not good for the casinos because it sets up "artibrage" or "middle" opportunities where they can get screwed pretty badly.
Ideally they want to set a good line and get even money on both sides with very minimal movement of the line. That removes most of their risk.
