Is it possible that an underclassman could grow and develop? Not saying I'm the biggest Cade fan but he's a true sophomore.
Joe Burritow was anonymous until he transfered to LSU as a 5th year senior...

So, you're saying he needs to transfer? (Kidding)

IMHO Klubnik should seriously consider a transfer to a more QB-friendly Offense after meetings with Dabo Swinney & Garrett Riley who are not on the same page. Not kidding.

There's zero time to develop once out of HS.

Either you can play Div 1 or you can't. Dabo's main problem is he's thinking like a HS coach. Cade is as stagnant as DJ.

If Klubnik's 2024 stats look like DJ's 2022 then I'll agree with you. Experience matters. DJ had a full year prior to 2022. He also practiced in the same system in 2020. I'll hold judgement until next season.

He’s only going to be as good as those around him. If WR and OL come along, so will he.

He told his new coach he didn't want to run the ball(which we asked him to do, to get blood from that turnip) and they didn't. He ran for 219 yards this year after running for 545 with us.

Cade's not it. He doesn't see the field well, and has poor accuracy. You can't take a HS QB who just ran around the field until someone got open and expect them to play CFB at an elite level.
Dabo needs to bring in a transfer QB.

I can do a lot of the golf ball club face balancing that Tiger does but I’m not close to a scratch golfer…

Cade has shown flashes of being great and has shown poor decision making as well. If he doesn't play very well with healthy wrs next year then I believe you are correct but right now I still believe.

That’s a positive spin _ other reasons are less encouraging.

Some of you ppl really amuse me haha like sometimes I really don’t know if y’all are being serious or just trying to get reactions, or just don’t think before you type… the kid has okayed ONE freakin’ year guys lol it’s not comparable bc dj was older and in the same system for much longer… now if Cade looks the same and there’s no improvement after next year then I’ll agree but to just write Cade off immediately bc of some struggles in his first year starting and on top of that a new OC is pretty ignorant IMO. And he may not end up being what we hoped but #### give the kid a legit shot , one year ain’t all he gets lol plus even with that take away some of the turnovers and missed fgs and we are likely a 10-2 11-1 team most likely in his first year … yes our passing game needs big time work but it’s not just the qb position.

He is a superb running QB. Avoiding sacks and turning the play into a positive down shouldn't be overlooked.

Dude Cade is not a superb running qb lol. He does okay with his legs but he isn't close to what Trevor or DW was running the ball and even those 2 are not really great running qbs. I mean dw is pretty smooth though.

How do they compare to DJ's '21 numbers in his first year as a starter

like Cade this season? Seems like a big jump there this year versus what we were experiencing then. DJ came out with some pretty big games in year 2. He was on Heisman watch lists up til Notre Dame. I'd take that kind of YOY growth from CK2 and call it a win. Why not? Kid's got chops.
Cade's ACCCG performance in year 1 is close to DJ's freshman performance in similar take over fashion at Notre Dame, where he established several passing records on their field. Cade got a win and an MVP trophy, DJ watched Trevor get the ND payback there in pretty convincing fashion later.
Year 2 in an offense with new blood about in the skies to go with some established ballers - I'm okay with that.

He’a the more typical QB who develops and starts coming into his own as a junior or so.
Trevor Lawrence and Deshaun Watson are the exception to the rule. You guys do get that, right?

2 of the best college qbs of all time. That is what we have our expectations set to though but we are not going to get another one like those 2 for a while most likely.
