Just a thought about other schools joining FSU...

...in the lawsuit.

I'm still working under the hypothesis that Clemson and other ACC schools are fully aware of and in constant communication with FSU with regard to the suit. So, I ask myself, why haven't they joined us.

Just thought of this a few minutes ago.

If another school from another state (say Clemson or UNC) joined us in the suit that would weaken our request that the trial must be held in Florida. So maybe, just maybe, the other schools are waiting to see if FSU wins the request to have the trial take place in Florida.

Any attorneys out there want to weigh in?

Bret you likely right. I assume that Clemson is in lock step with fsu

And probably 4 others minimum. Maybe 6

Good question. However, each state supported institution is subject to the laws in that state, and not in Florida or North Carolina. So, if Clemson invoked any SC laws in its challenge and it was a court case, filed in SC court, it would have to be heard in SC. Clemson plays its home games in SC, and the GOR covers broadcast media rights of home games.

The ACC is going to settle this case with FSU by April 2024.

The main thing would be the overwhelming legal
Costs for the ACC to battle 4-6 schools at one time.

I hope you are right.***

Gee ya’ll really came up with some unique thoughts.

There are about 57 different reasons Clemson is happy to have FSU be the canary headed into the coal mine.

Im nowhere close to being an attorney

but I saw an opinion which makes some sense:

* FSU goes first
* Then the ACC must mount a defense, which shows their hand and reveals some things in the discovery process
* If FSU loses then other schools would have a better idea how (or if) to construct their legal approach

We live in the cursed interesting times.

Maybe another conference has shown interest in FSU but nobody else. No school would spend millions on litigation, pay tens of millions in exit fees and give up $40+ million in ACC revenue if they had nowhere to go.

I thought everyone said they had the votes to dissolve the ACC last summer.
