when signing a kid out of high school or even out the portal...

obviously congress and legal is seeing the whole shebang as a business venture - by virtue of their rulings.

I mean coaches have contracts and buyout clauses - not much difference now for the players as I see it.

stuff they get comped - If the college was not a state institution the IRS would absolutely say that is compensation.

If players are given contracts to perform in sports, it will further blur the line between student and paid athlete. If they are paid to be athletes, then they will be able to sue for workers compensation increasing the expense of the sport.
