5-star 2016 defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence will be visiting Clemson's campus on Saturday around 2 p.m according to sources.
Lawrence has national offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Boston College, Clemson, Duke, East Carolina, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Miami, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Stanford, Syracuse, Tennessee, USC, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and others. Clemson was his first offer. Lawrence is an elite prospect and a consensus 5-star recruit by all the major recruiting services. TigerNet.com spoke with Lawrence back in mid-May and he had some excellent things to say about Clemson. "I talk the most to Coach Caldwell. He's just been telling me to work hard each day," Lawrence said. "He wants me to come up for a visit sometime. That's pretty good and it's impressive that Clemson put those guys in the NFL. That's a big factor for me. I will be looking at the schools that put players in the NFL." Lawrence appreciates how the Clemson community and fans support their football team. "I haven't been there since my freshman year but the fans and coaches, they are just all into it and enthusiastic," Lawrence said. "The fans are good fans and a lot of people are really supportive." As a junior, Lawrence accounted for 55 tackles, 10 sacks, 25 tackles for loss, three blocked kicks and three forced fumbles.
