Brad Brownell on what Duke transfer signee Christian Reeves brings to Clemson |
CLEMSON, S.C. — Head Coach Brad Brownell and his staff officially announced the addition of Christian Reeves (Charlotte, N.C./Oak Hill (Va.)/Duke). Reeves will have three years of eligibility beginning in 2024-25.
Reeves joins Jaeden Zackery (Salem, Wis./Westosha Central/Boston College) and Viktor Lakhin (Anapa, Russia/CSKA-2/Cincinnati) who were made official to the Tiger roster last week. All three transfers join a freshmen class that includes Dallas Thomas (Little Rock, Ark./Parkview Magnet), Del Jones (Largo, Md./Arizona Compass Prep) and Ace Buckner (Cleveland, Ohio/La Lumiere School). The freshmen class ranks No. 20 in the country, according to 247Sports. “I’m excited that Christian chose Clemson and I know our staff is looking forward to the opportunity to work with him and continue his development,” said Brownell. “He has great size, can rebound, block shots and has the potential to become an elite rim protector and more.” While at Duke, Reeves played in 13 games during his rookie season in 2021-22, including six in ACC play. In limited action (16 career games), Reeves is 10-for-14 (.714) from the floor with 18 total rebounds, including 10 on the offensive glass and 25 points scored. Reeves’ career-high of six points came on 3-for-3 shooting in just six minutes against Pittsburgh in the 2023 ACC Tournament. He is a former four-star center out of Oak Hill Academy. He was ranked the No. 5 player from the state of North Carolina in his class by ESPN. In 29 games at Oak Hill, he averaged 9.2 points on .639 shooting with 7.4 rebounds.
