Hey Mickey,
I posted this on Tigernet, but wanted to send it to you to hear your opinion on it.
If the NCAA fails to fix Ray Ray's situation. Would this work?
Everything I have read regarding the NCAA rules on Ray Ray's situation speak of "a scholarship athlete". Do the same rules apply to a walk-on?
If not, it seems that there is enough of an outpouring of support, that it wouldn't be much of a stretch to think that we could raise enough money to not only support Fahmarr, but to also put Ray Ray through Clemson (pay his tuition and board).
Is that a stupid thought, or has it been discussed, or are there reasons this would be illegal??
Like to hear some discussion on it,
I love the show Mickey, thanks for your support,

Tiger Dennis,
They will not have to go to those measures. I believe the attention that has been brought to this situation has forced the NCAA’s hand. Something very positive will come from this situation soon.
Mickey,
I enjoyed hearing you today at the Greer Touchdown Club. You were right on the money with your remarks about kids, the community and role models. Keep up the good work and I really enjoy your show and blog.
Travis
Travis,
Thanks. The Greer Touchdown Club should be very proud of its great effort. You guys are show what a community can do. Good luck.

Mickey, One name I would add to your list of hall of famers would have to be former Tiger first baseman Michael Johnson. And, if you include people like Justin Miller and LeRoy Hill, you should also include former 3rd baseman Jeff Baker, who was also a finalist for the Golden Spikes award in 2002.-Bubba
Bubba,
I agree on Johnson. He was a great offensive and defensive threat. I remember some very clutch hits he had in his career.
Mick,
Woody Dantzler would be a hall of famer in my mind.
Tiger
Tiger,
I agree. How could you leave him off of the list?
Mickey,
I heard a story the other day and was truly inspired…
The Tigers basketball team and their coach, Rick Barnes, were on their way to a playoffs game. It was a series of two games. While on the bus, Barnes made each of the players open their bags. The players that only brought one shirt and tie (expecting defeat) were not allowed to play in the game. He only allowed the players who had prepared (brought two outfits) and expected to win, play in the game. They won the first playoff game.
Just wondering if this is true…
Thanks for your help!
Jennifer
Jennifer,
I had not heard that about coach Barnes but I know Jim Davis did that every year before the ACC tournament.
Hey Mickey the South Carolina upstate Seminole club would be more than happy to donate clothes, grocery cards, or whatever we can do. Keep this email incase it gets allowed to do so and we'll join in your effort

FSU Rocker,
I am amazed by the compassion of opponents in times like these. Great to hear the Noles understand it too. Thanks.
Mickey
With the additional game being added to most teams schedule will this raise the bottom line of winning six games to be bowl eligible?
Wayne in Greenwood
Wayne,
No. 6-6 gets you eligible for a bowl game this season. It’s hard to believe a team can go to a bowl game and finish the season at 6-7.
Mickey,
Love the blog, man. It definitely is something I read every day and look forward to with great interest. Can you explain to me why Clemson has two #7s on the roster and both #7s are going to play? Dean and Sapp have the same number, but I would assume you would only double up on the number with players who were very unlikely to see the field. Last year Dean and Groover had the same number. Do they both get #7 because they both wanted it and won't be on the field at the same time? Also, I understand Korn would like to have #7 next year, so what happens then? Can we have three #7s on the roster?
Thanks for taking the time to answer this question.
Steven
Steven,
You can have as many with the same number but they cannot be on the field at the same time. Korn wears number 11 at Byrnes.
Mickey,
I spoke with a faculty member at Byrnes that told me that Chad Diehl, #54 for Byrnes, is very interested in Clemson, but that they have shown little interest in him. After watching him play on Saturday, I'd be shocked if they pass him by. They said that Va. Tech has offered. What do you know at this time about him? He played on the offensive line, as well as linebacker. Before the heat took its toll, he looked really good and always seemed to be around the ball. I read in the program that he squats 500 lbs and presses 325 lbs.
Jim
Jim,
Clemson will recruit Diehl but I doubt they will offer in the end. I think they will take only one more linebacker in this class.
Hey Mickey,
Hope you are doing well. You guys are doing a great job on the radio show and I wanted to thank you for your responses to my e-mails.
With that said, since the season is still a week away. What’s your prediction for the season and who’s the looses?(Clemson) Also, how do you like Clemson's chances with the following players.(%) In your opinion of
course.(Recruiting)
Jay Smith-WR
Markish Jones-WR
Chris Little-OL
Tony Tucker -DL
Carlos Dunlap-DL
Lorenzo Edwards-LB
Chris Culliver -DB.
Thanks man.

Thanks for writing your blog I certainly keep up with it. I especially enjoyed reading the camp stock one Tuesday. One highly touted freshman I have heard nothing on is Jamie Cumbie. He seemed to have the size and talent to compete for early playing time. What's the story?
Thanks,
Tim
Tim,
Cumbie is doing well. The staff is very satisfied with him and I think he will avoid a red-shirt this year. They think he has a high ceiling.
