Stats
I know stats are for losers but this time of year I love looking at them. Here are 10 random things I noticed:

*Clemson was only outrushed twice last season (Virginia Tech and South Carolina).

*The Tigers have improved in terms of scoring offense, rushing offense and passing offense over the last two years under Rob Spence. They have also improved in terms of points allowed, rushing and passing defense under Vic Koenning.

*Clemson is 19-20 under Bowden on the road.

*Bowden is entering his ninth year. Only 17 active coaches have been at their current school longer.

*Bowden is third in Clemson history in games coached and wins.

*According to Phil Steele’s magazine, Clemson is tied for 73rd in the country in terms of returning experience.

*Miami is 14-10 in the conference since joining the ACC.

*Boston College is 10-6 the conference since joining the ACC.

*Virginia Tech is 20-4 the conference since joining the ACC.

*Clemson did not allow a team over 332 yards to any team last year until it gave up 492 to South Carolina and 409 against Kentucky.

Sully
I don’t know Kevin O’Sullivan well but what I do know is the Florida has hired a good baseball coach. Sully is known as a relentless recruiter. He is an emotional coach who is passionate about baseball. I think he will fair extremely well in Gainesville due in part to his great recruiting ties in the Sunshine State.

Football Camp
Clemson’s football camp has a bunch of prospects in town this week and recruiting seems to continue to take off. Ten commitments in a recruiting year that should net around 20 signees is a good sign to this point.

Recruiting could be almost over soon for the staff if you consider:
*They are done at quarterback with two commitments.

*They will take one more running back and is in good shape with national backs like Harper, Jordan, Jackson, Curtis and Barnes.

*They will take one more wide out.

*They will take one more tight end.

*They will take three or four more offensive linemen from an impressive group of prospects like Freeman, Page, Sanders, Shaw, Bennett, Mattes and Love.

*They will take one more defensive end and lead for Crittenton.

*They will take three defensive linemen and are on good shape with players like Thompson, Harmon and Hammonds.

*They will take two to three linebackers and are in good shape with Willard, Manning, Harris and Dowton.

*They will take two or three more defensive backs and are in good shape with players like Adams, Jenkins and Whitlock.

*They are done with kickers and snappers.
