What's up Mickey, love the blog, it has become a daily ritual. I was just wondering if you have heard anything about if and when Tramaine Billie could be back? I have not read anything about his status in while and don't know if they have decided to red shirt him or not. Also, how is Michael Hamlin's rehab going, do you think he could be back for the Virginia Tech game?

Chris in Charlotte

Chris,
Thanks. Billie is still in his boot/cast. When he gets out of it they will start the rehab and then make a decision. Some of the staff wants him to re-shirt and be a part of a great linebacker corps next season but it remains to be seen what will happen. I think Hamlin may be back a little sooner than expected. I hear good things on Hamlin.

Mickey,

Greetings from Iraq. Good to hear you and Walt on the internet. Getting to hear your show helps make missing the football season a little easier.

Go Tigers.

Thanks,
Tom

Major Fleetwood,
We are so proud of you guys! Please tell everyone how much we appreciate their work and how we can never repay them for their efforts. You guys are awesome!!!

Mickey,
I just looked at the depth chart for this weekend and saw that Gaddis is listed as the starting corner back. I don't know what you think about this but I would definitely be in favor of moving him to safety (where he seems more comfortable) and move Crezdon Butler up to first team. Butler had some good hits against FSU and I really think he's gonna be a stand out corner. When Hamlin's healthy again (hopefully by Georgia Tech) he's the man for the safety position, but for now I think the move would be a good idea.

Drew

Drew,
I cannot count on Gaddis. He still makes too many mistakes to be counted on. I would play Butler more. I think the future (two or three years) of the secondary looks great with Butler and Gilchrest at corner and McDaniel and Maxwell at safety.

Mickey,
Regardless of the fact that Clemson is playing the two bottom dwellers in the country, as Gamecock Will pointed out, Clemson's Strength of Schedule is 35 and Carolina's is 82, according to sportsline.com. Pretty glaring.
Thanks, go Tigers
Henry

Henry,
Gamecock will never let facts get in the way of a bad phone call.

Mickey,

I love the blog. I also love The TigerNet. Can you tell me of similar websites that exist for our ACC brethren? I'd like to be able to keep track of the competition and what they are saying about themselves and our Tigers.

Thanks,

RC

RC,
I usually check out the rivals or scout sites for the ACC and SEC schools. Some are better than others and some have much more participation than other but all in all I think they will meet your needs.

Hey Mickey,

Do you know of any type of autograph session or gathering the 81 team is going to do Saturday. I know at the 01 reunion, they were just gathered outside (at
Fike I believe), wandering around and talking to each other. You were able to get autographs quite easily that way. Do you know of anything similar this year
or is it going to be impacted by the noon kickoff.

Thanks
Sam

Sam,

I have not heard anything but I would check into the Tiger Tailgate Show for more details. I do know that they will be honored at halftime and not the pre-game. Hopes this helps a little.

Mickey,
I probably shouldn't be worrying about 2007 with us barely into the 06 season and the Tigers playing Fairly well. But lets look into your crystal ball Mick; SIDES QB, what might be a couple areas of strength for the 07 team and a possible weakness area.
Far as QB goes in 07......Can you see Clemson taking the same sort of approach as Florida is this yr w/ Tebow and Leake?
Thanks (what?s your prediction for UNC/Clemson?)Score!

Wayne

Wayne,
I look at the 2007 and 2008 teams often. I think Korn, Harper and Reese will all have a chance next year but I think the starting quarterback will excel in Spence?s system. The offensive line will be inexperienced but talented. Humphries, Austin, Pilgrim, McDuffie and Grant give the Tigers a solid interior offensive line. If Barry Richardson comes back then this will help. If not Lambert, Capote and Hairston will get the early looks. TE, WR and RB should all be a strength. Sapp should take over for Adams. The rest of the D should be a strength. If Billie comes back then Clay, Billie and Watkins should be a great group of linebackers. The secondary should be a strength. Special teams should be good next year also. I think it could be another highly ranked team in 2007.

As far as the QB job is concerned I don?t think Spence wants to play more than one QB. Clemson 38 UNC 17.

Mickey,

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but something fishy seems to be going on in the replay booth at Boston College. Last week was the overturned Clemson INT that we all know, which led to a BC victory. This week, with BC hosting BYU, the officiating crew overturned in OT what was ruled an incomplete BYU pass, ruling it an interception and giving BC the game. Again, there was nothing resembling "indisputable" evidence for the overturning the original call in the BYU game, especially given that the same thing happened last week. There was clearly no visual evidence that the ball did not hit the ground. Two weeks in a row the BC replay official has overturned a call on the field without anything close to indisputable evidence, and both overturnings came at a critical time in the game and gave BC the victory. This is silly, and if this kind of thing can happen 2 weeks running, the replay system needs to be corrected immediately.

Michael

Michael,

I have no idea what this entire replay deal is all about. It is clear that this system is not working. I think it needs a complete overhaul.

Mickey,
With all the injuries to our defense how do you feel our replacements filled in for the secondary?
Drew

Drew,
I thought the secondary played well. They were not challenged that much in Tallahassee but they played well. Coleman had a great game. Clemmons played one of his best games. Butler proves to be a great athlete. I also thought the pass rush really helped out.
