Fish's first blog.

As I kick off my new blog, I would like to thank Crump and B-Miest for the chance to do this. These guys do a wonderful job of giving all of us a chance to contribute to Tigernet. If you haven't donated, I urge you to consider it. Now, on to the blog.

I thought a good topic for my first blog would be to share my preseason top 25 (also my ballot for the preseason Tigernet poll).

1. Texas - Defending national champs lost a lot, but should still get through the Big 12.

2. Ohio State - Possibly the most talented team in the nation, but they have little experience on D.
3. Auburn - From SC refuge to Heisman candidate, Kenny Iorns should lead the Tigers to a SEC crown.
4. The real USC - Sure they lost a ton of talent, but have you seen their past recruiting classes?
5. Notre Dame - I'm not buying the hype, but the Domers will make the BCS with that schedule.
6. West Virginia - Rich and Co should cruise through the Big East.
7. LSU - There's a ton of talent, but I'm not sold on Miles' ability to win big in the SEC.
8. California - The Bears could finally dethrone the Trojans, but I don't see it.
9. Florida - Anyone else noticed how good Urban Meyer's teams are in year two? The Gators win the East.
10. Florida State - The talent isn't what it once was, but Papa Bowden knows how to win.
11. Miami - The Cane's could have the best defense in the ACC, but can Kyle Wright carry the offense?
12. Oklahoma - The Sooners would have been higher if they still had a QB. They won't get past Texas.
13. Clemson - Tommy looks to finally have the pieces to return our Tigers to the top.
14. Virginia Tech - The Hokies lost some talent, but may have upgraded in character.
15. Georgia - Can Tereshinski fill the void at QB? He'll be ok, but the Dawgs won't pass the Gators.
16. Louisville - The Cards would be higher if it wasn't for WVU, but they should light up the scoarboards.
17. Iowa - If there is one team on here I have too low, it may be the Hawkeyes.
18. Tennessee - Phil should be able guide his Vols back into the top 25.
19. Oregon - I'm sure I have a reason for ranking the Ducks, but I forgot once I saw the ugly threads.
20. Arizona State - The Devils have can move the ball with the best of them, but they aren't Cal or USC.
21. Texas Tech - Could they possibly get past Oklahoma and Texas? Nah, but they're still good.
22. Penn State - If there is one team I have too high, it may be Joe Pa's boys.
23. TCU - The class of the non-BCS schools.
24. Arkansas - Could be the suprise team in the country, but the SEC is tough.
25. Boston College - We learned last year not to sleep on the Eagles. They play big boy football.

Comments:

Looks good, the only pick I can argue with is Tennessee. They had such a bad year last year that I couldn't justify placing them in my pre-season top 25. They may well work their way in (sooner or later who knows) but just like you gave Texas the #1 spot based on last season, Tennessee probably should have been left out based on last season.
