2006 Clemson season Preview.

Yesterday, I kicked off the blog with my preseason top 25. Today I'll take a shot at predicting our upcoming season. I'll save you guys the long break down for each game and try to save my attempt at expert analysis for each game week. Let's take a quick look at the schedule.

FAU: W, The Tigers will roll one of the newest programs in the land.
BC: W, It won't be a pretty game, but the Tigers win an early road test.
FSU: L, I want to call for a win, but FSU pulls this one out in a close one.
UNC: W, Clemson bounces back in a big way. The Heels lose in a blowout.
La Tech: W, The Tigers win big in the Smurf Bowl rematch.
Wake: W, Tommy and company walk out of Winston Salem with a win. A CLOSE win.
Temple: W, Clemson takes it's act to the Queen City and punks the Owls.
GT: W, A close one (suprise), but the Tigers put it away late with the running attack.
VPI: W, The Tigers late season hot streak trend continues, the Tigers make a big statement.
Maryland: W, Fridge always give the Tigers a game, but the talent gap will show in this one.
NCSU: W, Chuck's red shoes make their last appearance in Tiger Town as Clemson adds to Amato's misery.
SCU: W, This one will be close for a while, but the Tigers will eat up the Gamecock defensive front.

There you have it. 11-1 with a great chance at an ACC title game appearance. Before you tell me to put down the Kool-Ade, look at the schedule for a moment. The safe bet seems to 10-2 with the Tigers winning all the games they should, and only taking one of the big three road games of BC, FSU, and VT. These same predictions are always coupled with the, "The Tigers may be the ACC's most talented team . . ." Well, I say the Tigers show off that talent this year. Couple that talent with two of college football's brightest coordinators entering their second year in the program, and you have all the elements for a conference title run. After a 15 year nap, the Tigers will finally take back their rightful place as one of the ACC's top programs.
