Apparently mid week games dont matter

They are 3-5 in midweek games. 10-8 in out of conference games. 6-3 in SEC games. That just tells me they aren’t a top 25 team and the SEC is a subpar baseball conference.

Florida got a whole paragraph of explanation on D1. Having to write a whole paragraph to justify an 11 loss team in the top 10 tells you all you need to know about polls. RPI seems to be a much better evaluation of teams Florida is 17 in RPI which I can accept, but the polls are way off base.
Per D1 "Florida holds steady at No. 6 after continuing its season-long pattern: losing midweek but rebounding to win two of three against a ranked opponent on the weekend. The Gators have done that three weeks in a row, posting three straight 2-2 weeks, but those weeks included series wins vs. Texas A&M, at LSU and vs. Mississippi State. As a result, Florida has moved neither up nor down in the rankings, instead simply holding its position"

Are we going to post this question every Monday? The answer hasn't changed. Baseball rankings do not care what you do in the midweek as long as you win the weekend. Florida is losing in the midweek then winning the weekends largely against ranked teams. That's why they're still ranked highly.

Yea but they are 0-2 against FSU who they are ranked ahead. They will soon be 0-3 against FSU.

Are any of those games played on the weekend? No? Then I would redirect you to my point that baseball rankings do not care what happens in the midweek.

Are you reading what I’m saying. IDC if UF is ranked or not. They should not be ahead of FSU. They play them 3 times and have already loss the first 2. Run ruled in game 2.

Are you reading what I'm saying? Were the Florida-FSU games on the weekend? No? Then you can effectively consider them nonexistent insofar as baseball rankings are concerned. It's been that way for 15+ years. Midweek games just do not matter to pollsters.

On what planet does losing games on any day of the week not matter? That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. You are judged by W’s and L’s.

They have series wins over TAMU, LSU, and Mississippi State. They got the exact same outcome we did at Miami. The record is a problem and I think they probably should be getting penalized for consistently dropping midweek games, but they absolutely should be ranked.

A&M is probably the best team in college baseball, so yes, that's an impressive win. But Mississippi State and LSU don't even have winning conference records; LSU is 2-7. Now granted, we are only 1/3 of the way through conference play and the SEC is by far the best conference in baseball. Both of those teams are college baseball bluebloods and are probably better than their current records indicate. But wins and losses have to matter. MSU and LSU are not good enough right now to justify keeping Florida propped up that high. I'm not saying they should be unranked, but they should've at least been moved down. 6 is way too high.

And lost 2 to FSU as well. A team that has less losses and has the head to head. Vandy got swept by SC and hasn’t budged. SC jumped up to like 10 when they swept Vandy. Lost to Bama 2/3 and doesn’t drop much. These rankings value the SEC way too much.

Florida also has consistently made it to Omaha and been an elite program with O’Sullivan.
Not to mention they were runner up last year in the CWS.
They still have a lot of their best players.
So, with baseball’s uniqueness regarding usual season trends, Florida should be a potential host by the end.
Let’s not be haters here. Florida is good and we all know it.

For our sake I hope they are a host lol. Because if not we all know we’re they will be at as a 2 seed. For whatever reason we have had some brutal 2 seed draws at our home regionals. I agree Florida is a good team. They can beat anybody. But realistically with there remaining schedule they will end the season with 20 losses.

At this rate it would be a travesty if they got to host a regional. We wouldn’t even be top 50 with that record.
Had we lost both to usc you think we would be top 10?
Florida has multiple run rule losses. How can we say 11 losses just doesn’t matter? Just have them skip the season and prepare for Omaha I guess?

Florida is weird this year.
They’ve got three straight weeks being 2-2.
They’ve lost a bunch of midweek games, which also in the last 3 weeks they’ve lost 1 each week. And then of course more before that.
But, they’ve won three series (2 out of 3) against highly regarded opponents. #3 Texas AM, at #19 LSU, and #23 Mississippi State.
Yeah, they are definitely rewarding Florida for winning the SEC series’.
This is a biased system. Of course the ACC receives a little bias too sometimes, but the SEC is just respected much more by these people.
They will put Tennessee in our regional because, hey they want the most popping matchup. It was a very good couple of games with Tennessee in our regional, very entertaining.
But the problem is, we shouldn’t have had to deal with that. Tennessee was plain too good of a 2 seed to put in the #4 national seed.
Lost fairly, but we should’ve gotten an easier path to a super given that we won 20 straight games and an ACC title to put ourselves at 4th.
Seems like a conspiracy, but college baseball is still growing. College football is basically a pro sport economically. And basketball is getting there. But not college baseball.
Programs still get away with things. The rankings are still biased. Example was UCF using corked bats or whatever and sweeping us last year.
