How important is winning this OB vs newest sec darling TN?

I say big time since it gets Tigers back on track nationally with recruiting & needed positive hype after just losing to lowly Coots at DV, not being eligible for ACCCG last year and consequently having to settle for the fun but yellow cracker bowl a year ago.
What says youse TiGER?

Somewhat important for Cade's confidence and the team's confidence in him and for finishing the year on a good note. It could also provide some lift on recruiting overall...
Any win against the SEC is a lift.

Winning isn’t that big of a deal as the talking heads will frame it as Tenn was without their team…however…NOT LOSING is HUGE…as the talking heads will take the opportunity to prop the SEC and Tenn yada yada yada!!!

Yes, a win is needed. I’d argue the downside of losing is greater than the upside of winning. We win, media talks about wonder what that game would’ve been like with Hooker healthy. We lose, we can’t beat that SEC team without Hooker. I like our chances given the time we’ll have to prep. Gotta have actual good practices though, not like whatever we did in the 2 weeks before ND.

IMO we lost to ND because of the 2 week layoff. When you are in a rhythm then you take time off sometimes it takes time to get that rhythm back. ND being the first game back after 2 weeks layoff and we were a little sluggish. If we had played ND even on a short week rather than a layoff week, I feel we beat ND by 10 to 14 points. Then we don’t end going into the coot game with so much negative energy. Especially from the fans. How many of you during the game told someone in the stadium or at a party that Clemson was going to loss.
According to the coots Spencer Rattler just hypnotized our defense. We actually had a defeat hangover after the ND loss. The fans feed to the players and the coaches missed opportunities to change the flow of the game.
And I will say it every time we did not lose to ND or to SC because of DJ. It was because of coaching, players and negative fan energy that we played flat. I believe there are times when positive energy from the fans can change the outcome of the game. Sometimes the players need to know we have got their backs even though adversity. We failed them the NF and coot games. I believe by a lot of negative talk after the ND loss it affected DJ’s confidence. If a leader and well liked player by his teammates sees his lack of confidence can affect the entire team’s play.
Rattler can go strutting around the coup with his little beak bragging about how great he was against Clemson. He still threw his game average of 2 interceptions a game. In Clemson he threw a pick 6 and another interception. On several occasions coot o-lineman held our defense and in a few cases Clemson D players were actually tackled by coot offensive players.
You play the game against the coots same players 10 times Clemson wins no less than 8 games. In fact that could win all 10.
Best of luck in your future DJ. Always a Tiger!
Now we focus on beating Tenn and recruiting the Clemson way. I believe we win and yes I feel we need to win. What would be great would be a 21 point win.

Exactly! Dabo said this is his reason for making the 5th goal winning the closer. Sets the time for now t year.

If we win, that likely means Cade played well.

We'd likely finish 5th or 6th and have great momentum heading into 2023.
Yuge.

hard to overstate the significance of either a win or loss.
A win interrupts the narrative of us having lost it. A loss adds credence to the narrative.
