Hes definitely fast on a track but not everyone's track speed translates directly to the football field.

and may not always be the fastest guy on the field. Plus, sometimes he did not break free from all tacklers. A couple of times he got tripped up. He wasn't CJ Spiller or Travis Etienne. So, a bunch of T-Net idiots got it in their heads that Shipley sucked. That's where we are right now, with idiots doubting the same 40 times he's run for years.
Shipley was one of the very top RBs in the country coming out of high school. He was first team All ACC at Clemson, and he played with more effort and passion than just about anybody. It bottles the mind that people won't get behind such a player, and instead, keep repeating the same nonsense.

I'm with you on this all the way! He never quit on Clemson.

Would have been 4.49 - 4.51 at the NFL combine

Clemson Pro-Day stopwatches are always generous. Take Travis Etienne for example:
Travis Etienne NFL Combine - 4.45 Clemson Pro Day - 4.40
Shipley was smart for refusing to run the 40 at the combine and waiting for Pro-Day. Hope he gets Drafted and gets a chance to prove himself.

I was thinking 4.5s at the combine and 4.4 on the home field.
Definitely doesn't translate to the field as well for whatever reason.

when they watch his film. Will never forget the South Carolina game in 2022 where he broke through the line with nothing but daylight ahead and got walked down quickly. Hoping my guy gets with a good team and grinds his tail off.

I think there is a place in NFL for Shipley, with the right team and Offensive that needs his skill sets. Also, as a punt returner. Dude can get some yards. At best hes a 3rd down RB and maybe a receiver out on the boundary/slot.

Anyone know Jim Brown's 40 time? Doubt it was very good. Don't make 'em like that anymore.

Some of his coaches claimed he ran a 4.5 in full pads from a 3 point stance. Of course, he was the size of Hershel too. True physical freak.
