Elon Musk / Jeff Bezos NIL Plan for College Football

Hypothetical of course. But these gents could easily fund their respective alma maters, Stanford and Princeton, to pay all starters $1,000,000-plus per year plus Ferraris, Lambos, and other perks (without a dent to their personal financials). They could obliviate major college football programs and conferences with a sustained contribution over just a few years.
All that college tradition offered by major football programs like Ohio State, Bama, UGA, Clemson, etc., would mean little compared to millions in the pockets of high school recruits & families. Can you imagine the uproar from major football schools, ESPN, Fox Sports, SEC and B1G if their monopoly ended by being outbid? New rules and bylaws would be written by federal lawmakers and quickly.
Of course, Musk and Bezos could care less about college football. But all it would take is one zany multi-billionaire to alter college football's landscape with today's lack of rules.

If they contributed it directly to the school for NIL use, which schools can now do, it would also be tax deductable.

Somewhere around 40 players on a team play on any given day and if you think 45 players that are 4 and 5 star kids are going to sit on the bench you are really naive. Take your $1 million deal and pick a team and sign all 85 guys to an NIL today and by this time next year 20 of the best players would be in the Portal. The players leaving would have their cash, if there was any left after taxes and a kid blowing money, they would go where they would play and not sit on the pine.
Would huge deals attract players, sure. Would huge deals guarantee championships, absolutely not. After a few years, a Musk or a Bezos would be tired of fighting with their accountants or bored with the deals and the well would dry up.

I’m guessing they are going to support their investment by providing funds to get the best players.
So, we’ll see.

Take it from the NY Yankees...paying more money than everyone else doesn't guarantee anything.
Your obtuse hypothetical is nothing but that.
I really wish I had the time to lament over these grandiose ideas that have zero substance in reality.
