I don't think other ACC schools have as easy of a time finding good non con games against other Power conferences like the SEC as Clemson and FSU.
I looked at future schedules and ND is on NCSU's schedule next year and on UVA's in 26. Also, They don't have the built in rivalry games with the SEC the way Clemson, FSU and GT do. Guess they are just trying to fill their schedule the best way they can.

Saw many confused posts the years that UNC v Wakr happened as referenced in link. I think we will see it happen more and more in the remaining “big” conferences.

Agreed. If the SEC goes to 9 conference games the ACC and Big 12 may have to work together more for non con home and homes. I don't see the B1G being eager to schedule ACC teams either. They never have. I wouldn't mind seeing Clemson with a TCU, Baylor, Ok St or Utah series. TCU brought a boatload of fans to DV in 2009.

LOL. The college football world missed the UNC-Wake football game -No one cared about the absence of that game outside of Chapel Hill and Winston-Salem.

at least someone is still thinking about the fans. Wish we could have continued with a NC State OOC game in 2020 to keep that rivalry going.
The college football world doesn't care about most games but a lot of fans do. The powers that be should remember that before they destroy everything.

Stepping out of the ACC, why give those teams a decent game with Clemson when none of them stand behind us on this ACC exit and never have in the past going back to the DF days.
I would like to see our military day game be against Army, Navy or AF every year and I prefer Army most of the time just because I pull for Army all the time in the Army/Navy/AF games.

I think that is great and wish we could play Carolina every year even if some year's are non conference games. Back in the day, our games against Carolina were the best of the year and losing those games were a downside to conference expansion.

The UNCheat games were okay and along

with Maryland were the best conference games but Definitely not best games of the year. Those were games against that opponent 70 miles away from Clemson-UGAly (especially for the period between 1977-1991-before FSU was in the league).

It has always seemed foolish to schedule a bunch of games against no-name opponents when we don't play other conference teams but once in a blue moon.

IMO, The only ACC opponent we should do that with now is GT since we aren't protected rivals any more. Since Georgia recruiting has been so important then we should schedule them in the years the two aren't playing and we don't have an opponent from the state of Georgia (UGA).
Still can't figure out for the life of me why Neff and J Batt (GT) didn't request that from the ACC to be a protected rivalry this time. Now we get a lame game with Cal or Stanford. Never met a Cal or Stanford grad or fan in my life and couldn't care less about playing them in football.
