I have a progressive female friend that said the following:

This is in regards to ole miss students banding together and retaliating by holding US and Israel’s flags and singing the national anthem:

It’s great I’m SOOO proud of college students right now. Unfortunately, people are interrupting the peaceful protests and making them NOT peaceful, but it’s great that people on campuses are standing up for Palestine the way they have for so many issues before like Vietnam, segregation, anti-apartheid, reproductive rights, voting rights, etc. College campus activism has pretty much always been on the side of what is just, but when it’s happening America loves to vilify them. But when it’s in the past, America loves to use it as a show of our patriotic spirit. Eyeroll to media and politics.”
